Today's the day, a lot has been said about the history of Darlington in the competition. I am positive about today and looking forward to a good run, surely history is irrelevant when only a couple of players have played previously for Darlington in the competition?

Been busy. Missed the radio and scores not up on BBC yet.
Do I take it we actually won?

What a lovely day out. Great result and a really warm welcome. Volunteers, stewards all excellent, extra food and drink set up, no segregation and absolutely no one misbehaving. We sat on two grass banks, bathed in sunshine for the second half. Good to see so many known faces. MCFC you missed a treat despite seeing 8 goals!
And no, we've been in the last 16 twice.

Racial abuse directed to Dover players, Hartlepool players offering to fight fans, threats of players walking from the pitch, 2 players and manager sent off.

A friendlier team on the coast, in the shape of Whitby Town, would be a nice, local draw. We could even win!

Good result and through which is what all of us wanted, nice bit of cash coming in as well. Shame we couldn't keep the clean sheet, but with a makeshift CB partnership I think I'll take the win without looking a gift horse in the mouth. Well taken headers from both Thommo and Donawa for their goals.

Adam Campbell 6 goals in 12 and some of our fans still don't think he's a striker. In good form and on course to beat Mark Beck's 18 in his full season with us at this level.

Another positive is that Alfreton and Kings Lynn drew 1-1, which means a midweek trip to Norfolk for our opponents next week, before we play them at the weekend. Might help us out slightly. Going into the next round I'd probably like to avoid anyone from our league, or someone like Whitby, while its a nice local trip but they're bang in form at the moment. Maybe someone like Dunston would be a decent local game.

I sincerely hope that if any of our fans did that they’d get the s*** kicked out of them on the spot. Just been reading it. I hope this town does not follow like them fuckers up the road and elect some Britain First or whatever it is wanker.
Waiting for Raj to shaft them!

No complaints with that today. Not spectacular but job done against a side that packed the defence from the off. We dominated possession and it's great to have a striker who's quick to seize on a chance and has a 50% strike rate so far this season.

Yes but some people think he isn't a striker... I despair with some people on here

The north section merges with the midlands for the next round so a local team is unlikely but you never know.

Stockton gave a good account of themselves going down 1-0 at Guiseley. £10k in the bank for them.

Excellent performance against limited opposition. Lovely ground & a very friendly club. Unfortunately I was driving, so I couldn't enjoy the hospitality on offer. Met a Man City fan who decided to watch his local side, he was rather impressed with our team. Thought Galbraith was MOTM, he won everything in the air. Bit worrying that Thommo picked up a hamstring injury, hope it's not as bad as it looks.

Interesting didn't know that. Tbh it could be a kindness, there aren't many of those northern sides I would want to play. Dunston or Osset would be a decent localish game that would present a winnable chance to get through to the 4th qualy round.

A quick scan of the results gives us the possibility of teams from the 'north' :-

York, Dunston, Blyth, Morpeth, Ossett, Whitby, Gateshead, Guiseley, Spendy, Farsley

There's others in the north west as well as the midlands.

Saw this on Non League Zone as potential opponents in the next round.

North Part Of The Draw -
1 Dunston FC
2 Southport FC
3 Chester FC/Altrincham FC
4 Curzon Ashton/Blyth Spartans
5 Morpeth Town
6 York City
7 Ashton United
8 Colne FC/Ossett United
9 Whitby Town
10 Warrington Town
11 Darlington FC
12 Gateshead FC
13 Guiseley AFC
14 Spennymoor Town
15 Farsley Celtic
16 Alfreton Town/King’s Lynn Town
17 Boston United
18 Leamington FC/Chasetown FC
19 Kettering Town/Sutton Coldfield Town
20 Belper Town/Witton Albion
21 Tamworth FC
22 Nantwich Town
23 Rushall Olympic
24 Halesowen Town
25 Leek Town
26 Buxton FC
27 Kidsgrove Athletic
28 Hednesford Town
29 Kidderminster Harriers/Stafford Rangers
30 Stourbridge

Think I'd still take my selections above. Osset or Dunston home or away would be a decent draw.
