Flares /pyrotechnics

Post by onewayup » Mon Nov 18, 2019 7:56 pm

I saw that the club are asking fans not to bring flares or pyrotechnics into blackwell on Wednesday, if you spot anyone who is about to take any of these items into the ground please let a steward know, as we the fans will have any fines from the F.A.to pay. As it is a fan owned club. Please let the game go ahead without any trouble.
Enjoy the game for what it is. And cheer the team to victory.

Absolutely, We are already in trouble with FA about the flares and pitch invasion at Walsall , if it happens again on Wednesday night any monies made will no doubt be going to the FA in fines which will be quite substantial and something we can't afford to happen.
So if you know the lads responsible please ask them not to bring any, and as said above if you see someone with them inform a steward.
I would hate this night to be remembered for the wrong reasons.
Help get the club back to Darlo by helping to spread the word about the "Back to Darlo!" fund. The image on the right will be constantly updated with the latest total so please feel free to use the image link below the thermometer on your own signatures, blogs, websites, etc.Image

I hope there isn't a barrage of anti-poolie songs & that nobody starts singing that paedo song, it's just so embarrassing it would be terrible if you could hear it on TV.

There has been a worrying trend for some idiots to let off flares at recent cup games, I really hope Wednesday is flare free & we can celebrate any goals scored by us flare free.

The ground will be full. There is no way it will be possible to throw flares etc without being seen.
At the very least, if this happens, point them out to stewards afterwards so that action can be taken against them.
At least lets show the Know FA we, as owners are doing all we can to eradicate the problem.

I remember the day when people threw toilet roll on to the pitch.....would that be allowed?

Maybe singing/chanting, jumping around is enough without all the stupid antics of chucking stuff or yourself onto the pitch. We don't need the fines or the embarrassment. 99% of our support at Walsall managed to have fun without misbehaving.

There aren't any football special trains to pinch the toilet rolls off these days and in any event the trains don't use toilet rolls, they put individual sheets in toilet paper holders now

I notice on the official site that there will be bag searches at the turnstiles tomorrow night. Problem with that is that the flare throwers are unlikely to be carrying them in a bag, more likely in their coat pocket. Hopefully there is a plan to spot likely suspects and check any bulging pockets.

Let’s just get behind the lads with some decent songs.
So looking forward to this one it’s hard to concentrate at work.

Oh, those football specials! 36 hours there and 40 hours back, Rome '77 and the thrill of pouring out of countless stations where a tribe of home fans waited to welcome you with open arms, well, closed fists and Doc martens. Such joyous memories!

Honestly, I think the best thing to do is if the club put out a few warnings reminding them that if any are thrown on the pitch, the club has to pay fines we can't really afford as a fan owned club. That should sharpen a few minds.

The club have taken all the steps they can bag checking at turnstiles, if any illegal pyrotechnics are found the person will not be allowed in and reported to police.

Yeah. I meant on the PA system to be honest.

Bloody idiots at the end of the match & completely incompetent stewards. Obviously a lot of kids just wanted to see all the flares, I confronted some of them about cheering the idiots on the pitch & the kids looked at me like I was bonkers.

Security were 100% ineffective, letting people stand in prohibited area in front of Tin Shed, stood by when people vaped 2 yards away & still some wassocks threw flares before and after the game. Just reinforced the point that BM is not equipped for giving a good view if there are more than 2000 attending.

The area in front of the tinshed should have been cleared. The stewards shouldn't be paid & whichever company provided them, should never be used at the ground again. They were either too fat or too old.

Dickheads bringing flares has nothing to do with the capacity of Blackwell.

It’s up to theClub to pay for competent stewards for a game like this they should have maximised provision bearing in mind the money we have accumulated.
. I’m not sure who decides amount of stewards but I’ve heard it’s the chair of DFCSG who signs it off.

Chatting to JS at least there was no running on the pitch as that’s where the FA fines come from.
On another note support Rob Duncan with his latest fundraising event as it looks a good night.

In summary a disappointing but not unexpected night

No all those stewards were employed from an agency as far as I know. That agency should never be used again to provide stewards at a game.

A lot of the stewards came from Middlesbrough and there was some of our own stewards working tonight as well
