York
Re: York
I fancy us for this one. Current form isn't that far apart and I'd say we're better going forward. Tight at the back and we can win. This fixture should be seen as a derby in my view and there have been some good games over the years, like last seasons here. I had my Damascene conversion about Tommy W after that one. It lasted till Easter Saturday. The gospel of Saint Alan looks more likely to stretch to the promised land.

Reid able to play on Saturday?
Re: York
Just booked my train. 19.50 return. I barely paid much more for my travel from London to Darlington on an advance ticket this week.
Will be a bumper crowd you'd think. Happy to go to Bootham one last time before it closes. A damned shame it's going. Proper football ground.

Agreed the new ground would be a nightmare at this time of year with Christmas shoppers.Only problem with Bootham Crescent is we hardly ever seem to win there.H1987 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 1:23 pmJust booked my train. 19.50 return. Re: York
Hope we can spoil their farewell to Bootham Crescent party & nick the points. Would be a great place for Thommo to get that elusive 100th goal, but perhaps he is saving that for Spenny. Either will do for me

Re: York
I remember going to the very last game played at Boothferry Park in Dec 2002. We won that day, a surprise result!!

Re: York
Presumably you refer to Sweet Caroline. Just to make it clear I never said it was my favourite song just that it could become a song we became associated with.theoriginalfatcat wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 5:28 pmBut on the up side you will get to hear your favourite song.....Old Git wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 5:10 pmAgreed the new ground would be a nightmare at this time of year with Christmas shoppers.Only problem with Bootham Crescent is we hardly ever seem to win there.H1987 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 1:23 pmJust booked my train. 19.50 return. Re: York
Really looking forward to Saturday & a day out in York, but not going there with any confidence, as I think I've only seen us win twice at York, in about 25 trips to their ground. I for one will be happy to get away from the dump & hopefully our luck will change when we play at their new ground.

Re: York
It's highly unlikely Saturday's match will be the last at BC, I understand York City Knights are due to play their first match in the new stadium in February and as yet YCFC don't have a definite move in date yet but I would imagine it will be around the same time.

Re: York
I don't know how he's been getting on in their other games this season, but I can't remember Tait putting a foot wrong in September at our place.
Also, he's got that whole shorts-tugging tic thing going on, which I find disproportionately irritating, so I really hope he doesn't play.

Surprised to see Donawa and Holness dropped after recent performances. Let’s hope AA knows best!

Re: York
Fantasy football is always better. I was including cup form in my bold - and correct - prediction. Our last three performances against strong teams tells its own story. As for York - George Hudson, Joseph Rowntree your boys took a hell of a beating.Ghost_Of_1883 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2019 5:20 pm
It would be beneficial if the "F" column in the League Table backed up your claim. I'd suggest sticking to facts, rather than fantasy.

Re: York
Well I never expected us to get anything today, so to say I'm pleased would be an understatement.
If we can beat York and beat Chester, then we can beat Spennymoor.
Really pleased to see Campbell get a goal as well.
