Everton vs Telford, FA Cup 1985.

One of those that got away.

We had such a good team that season, I still don't know how we folded so easily in the replay at Telford. I know there's always the chance of an upset in the FA Cup, but 3-0

The magic of the cup

They did have a few off days though, good as they were. 5-2 at Chester springs to mind. Ray Simpson reporting for radio Cleveland. Showing my age !

Would be interested to know if any of our, let's say, more senior contributors ;) were at the game. If so, were we as bad as the scoreline suggests?

I went on the footie special, but can't remember if we were as bad as the scoreline suggested.

My one and only time on the supporters coach. I don't remember anything about the game but I do remember, at 3 0 with about 10 mins to go, overhearing one of the old dears in the pie stall (although they were probably younger than I am now) telling her mate that she wished we would score a goal as we'd come a long way...it must be dire if the opposition staff are feeling sorry for you!!
Oh and the journey back was the longest ever...and put me off the coach for life
