The move of communicating directly with the fans, are you on a wind up?

Other larger clubs have been doing this for a while. I guess it wouldn't take Ainsley very long to ring all the supporters at Spendy.

Club Officials, including Alun Armstrong, are currently calling supporters to check if they’re ok, to see if there’s anything the club can do for them and give them the opportunity to ask questions about DFC.

They could do all the fans at once by putting him on speakerphone.

Quite a lot really, he was chatty. he talked of the virus situation, what he's tried to get in place this season, about how this season might play out, about the players he would like to sign and about how nobody knows for sure anything about next season - how the leagues will be put together/clubs maybe going under etc. If I remember right he doesn't like this points per game idea, he would ideally like to get the season finished or failing that just stopped with nothing riding on it.

It was a good conversation, I was cheered up by it in fact.

You can hear some of his thoughts on the new podcast, it's called something like a "socially distant season review".

Cheers fatcat

Yeah listened to the podcast, I found Armstrong very engaging on it and sounds like he was similar on the call. He is really easy listening and can tell he puts those who he talks to at ease.

I have previous form here!

A drunk teenage me was picked up by Jackie Charlton whilst hitch hiking back home from a late night booze up. He spotted me wobbling about on the side of the road, pulled up in his S reg Cortina mk 4, then made the effort to ask where I lived and take me all the way home.

We had a brief chat.

I asked him if he was Jackie Charlton, he said “yes” and at that point my beer ravaged brain went into standby mode.

I obviously thanked him....
