South Shields budget

Post by Darlo_CR » Mon May 18, 2020 12:00 pm

Geoff Thompson has said their most expensive cost per month is 50k, which I presume is on players! That’s nearly 600k per year on wages! :wtf:

I’m sure our wage budget when we won the league was just short of 200k?

Not sure you can just jump to the conclusion that they are spending 600k a year on players wages.
Don’t forget they will only be paying wages for 10 months of the year and will be incurring other costs as well which he may be including.
600k per year on players would equate to an average wage of 30k per year assuming a squad of 20 players. Seems very high for a team at their level.

It’s difficult to assume quite what he means by that. Could be players & management, or it could be an accumulation of the highest over-heads the club has.

However no doubt that will have a very strong budget & probably one significantly bigger than what we had in the NPL.

South Shields have a number of Academy coaches and that set up to pay for, they also have a food outlet outside of match day etc. that needs to be paid for.

I am sure they have big squad outgoing also but not the full £50k I would guess.

They were paying Arca a £1 for every fan that came through the turnstiles(Allegedly) So they have built up a decent fan base which can sustain it
