Just for a bit of fun, here's my speculation of incomings:

GK: Gould
Mid: Lambert
For: Boyes/Langstaff
Def: No idea

Not another Elliott in goal?
Pack midfield with 20 Lamberts?
Posh doublebarrel up front?
We had No Idea defending start of last season😅

Interesting reading the latest update from Ray Simpson on the club website that the only current player not offered terms for next season was Chris Elliott.
As we already know Thommo has declined the offer. Luke Trotman looks unlikely to return due to the travel commitments but it seems possible that we could retain the rest of the squad. No mention of Omar Holness which would suggest he could remain.
Excellent work from Ray on keeping us informed of developments.

Omar was always possible to return and still is possible.

He wasn't told he wouldn't be offered anything at the time, just there was no offer at the time I believe. Obviously the club has to understand it's position before they can move forward.

Holness, i believe has been offered a contract as has been said all last season squad other than Elliott and thomo who's gone of his own volition and Trottman who is currently on the books but doesn't want to travel.
We await with baited breath on the incoming players.

I’d expect over the next week or so we will see if players accept our deals then we’ll know what we need to go out and get. Wouldn’t expect to see new players for a few weeks

Speaking of Stockton, Kevin Hayes could be someone to look at, meant to be very highly rated apparently

I watch Stockton a fair bit and they’re an impressive outfit. Kev is a former Boro junior and a very good player. Typical pacy winger with plenty of tricks and likes to cut inside and shoot. Scored a lot of goals at NL level. He can definitely play a league or two higher.

Spenny did sign him but opportunities were limited and it didn’t work out for him there.

Gould from Spendy is a decent keeper isn’t he? Could be an option if we don’t go down the route of a loanee, although I could see Hemming on loan as an option.

Sam Jones released from Harrogate. Might be outside our budget

May be quite a few players who would be happy to be assured of getting their money every week as per contract, given the parlous state of finances in many EFL & NL clubs so would welcome an approach by DarloFC.
As an example. just wondered if Hignett managed to get what was owed to him from Pools & Raj Singh?

Think Higgy may be a bit too old for us now. Decent player in his time though.

I meant that if Higgy did not get what he was owed, has this happened to other players?
He did a great job for us at the time, but don't see that he has anything to offer us now apart from advice or scouting.

We have to be careful how and when to bring new players into the club ,the situation with this CORONAVIRUS could go on for a lot longer than has been said by people, I can't see a start date until maybe late September at the earliest maybe even after that, costs to the club have to remain serviceable,

But, hasn't it been ruled that all new contracts will start from day 1 of next season, whether it's September, January, or next August?

EFL is proposing a salary cap of £2.5m for 3rd tier and £1.25m for 4th tier, so by extrapolation should NL be looking at £625k for tier 5 and £312500 for NLN? Not sure if Spendymore could cope with that limit and reckon a lot of players would get a nasty reality shock in next season's contracts! Certainly food for thought.....

DJ in his recent interview with Ray actually raised a similar point to prevent rich benefactors giving their clubs an unfair advantage, and to introduce some form of FFP into non league football.Cannot remember exactly what he proposed but certainly made a lot of sense.

Rumours circulating that York are listening to offers for Jameson and Maguire.

Shocked about Jameson if true, if he wants to revert back to P/T football then a no brainer for us.

I think we should sign them both on and tell York that we will play them in a pre-season friendly as compensation. :D :D

Maguire isn’t under-contract, is he?

They might have had an option to extend but whether or not they activated it or not I'm not sure.

If we were able to get those two, and retain the rest of the current squad, I'd probably be happy enough to draw stumps.

With Holmes returning and adding Maguire I think you more than offset the loss of Thompson in an attacking sense.

Midfield remains as is.

Defence remains as is, minus Trotman but he was never really here last season so not really a miss. Potential to strengthen in the middle but not an absolute priority in my opinion.

Jameson in goal would be an upgrade also.

Of course, likelihood of us being able to afford those two is probably slim - may require Armstrong to use his powers of persuasion!

Imagine if we end up with:
Fraser Kerr
Jack Lambert
Dan Maguire
Peter Jameson

What a set signings that could be on top of the squad that we have now, also rumoured with Langstaff and Tait too, madness
