It would be great to get it over the line tomorrow then see how much we can beat last year's total by before close of play next weekend.

A brilliant start this morning means that we are just short of our target, £2,888 required.

I thought we might get to £100k before Wednesday's Netcaf with Alun, £110k before the weekend & £120k by the end of Sunday. Looks like we'll get to £100k well before Wednesday, if not today. I think it's a good idea to extend the btb by another month.

The club need to set a short deadline in order to appropriately plan financially for the year ahead. The earlier they know how much is in BTB, the easier this is to do.

Also, BTB offers an excellent direct debit method, so if people don’t have the money this month but will next month, then they can amend the direct debit date to next month.

Obviously if it is extended it undermines the sense of urgency when we have our initial & late surges of pledges.

If it ain’t broke, don’t try and fix it. We’ve so far seen year on year increases in pledges and hopefully that will continue this year. Clearly people are buying in to what’s being offered. Why change it?

I think for me it should close at the end of the month, especially if its reached its target. Get the theory of keeping it open, but it's also good to give people a break from calls for funding. From DJ's interview he sounded fairly comfortable with the money coming in over the coming months to see us through.

There can always be further calls later in the year depending on what we need (budget to challenge for a title, infrastructure etc). Also hopefully a few months away from donations can allow fans to save and kick start season tickets sales for next season whenever that may come.

I think BTB works well and extending it may not help. The fact that it is for a limited period gives it some urgency and energy and if left open for longer it could lose some of that. If anyone wants to make a donation after the end of May I am sure the club will still be happy to here from you.

28 investors short of last year's BTB and past the target looking better every day. Still time to invest.

532 last year and the number is the total number of pledges rather than pledgers, however that doesn’t detract from the point that once again as fans we’ve raised the bar even higher.

Great from the supporters but others too have contributed to this.

In one sense it is our job as owners to fund the club so we might be seen as just doing our job but even so all of our supporter / owners have done phenomenally well and deserve a pat on the back for hitting this target.

I also think though that we need to give our thanks to the board and all of the volunteers at the club and within DFCSG.

Special thanks must go to David Johnston who is not only doing a brilliant job running the club but also puts real effort into communicating with the supporter owners and is doing a great job there too.

Our willingness to stump up this sort of money is undoubtedly made easier, and in my view is only possible, because we have complete confidence in those running the club and how they will deal with the funds we provide.

This sets us far apart from many other clubs which are not supporter owned and whose fans will never have the trust and confidence we enjoy.

So I’d like to say thanks and well done DJ and the rest of you who put the hours in for us.

Never underestimate your role in the success of raising funds in this way.

Oops nearly forgot Alun Armstrong the players and the whole of the management team who have all played their part too.

Superb effort today I wasn't expecting such a surge. All the great news on the management & player front has obviously helped boost the btb.

They also seem to have locked the poolie bunker web site this couldn't be a ploy by uncle Raj could it to stop some of their switched on fans to tell their friends where the Hartlepool budget booster money is really going. Maybe somebody also upset him last week drawing attention to their six figure salaried chief executive. Thank god we don't have Muppets like this running our club anymore.

Very much in agreement with the above sentiments. We are all on the same page from DJ DFCSG board AA and the management team down to the rank and file supporters. The communication from the club through Ray Simpson has been excellent and I think we are all fired up for the new season. Every reason to be optimistic but we will have to be patient and hope we will have football to watch before too long.

Just as a matter of interest can anyone remember the exact amount raised last year? Would be great to beat that sum.

Pretty sure it was just over the £103,000 mark, so today has certainly broken through that barrier, and given the uncertain times for everyone's finances, this is a truly remarkable total already. But with days to go it may well be possible to get close to DJ's wish list target of £120,000.

I see everyone is copying us.

"Supporter led" Gateshead have a boost their budget scheme with an aim of raising 10 grand.

Of course Gateshead aren't supporter run in the same way that we are - I believe they're owned by a consortium of business men/fans who put money in, so it's a tougher ask in that situation.

Certainly being fully fan owned makes it easier to raise a substantial amount although of course that amount might not come close to what a rich owner or consortium might put in.

106k now up.

£106,035 from 497 investors.

So 3 investors to go for 500.
