It will be interesting to see inside again, so i'll make the effort, just got to find a bucket.

You may be surprised (and not pleasantly).

And after cleaning it, knock half of it down, put some new seats in, replace some of the rotting and rusting metal, get a new sign up that isn’t falling apart...

Good to see some positives amongst the customary negativity. Well done those who've offered to help.

To be fair it’s our new home for a while, so it’s only right we give it a clean before we move in.
See you in the morning 👍

Interesting to see inside the Arena again. Overall impression was not too bad. Yes the seats are faded but still in good working order and I think it will suit our needs in the current situation. Main concern looks to be the playing surface which has been reseeded but does not look great and there seemed to be a lot of sand from what I could see. Hope l am wrong but did not look conducive to a passing football game.

Hasn't it just been scarified?

It was good to help out this morning, and seeing a few people haven’t seen for ages.
We cleaned blocks 1 to 20 every other row.
There is obviously work going on with the pitch, I didn’t think it looked to bad, a couple of weeks preparation it should be fine

Enjoyed meeting people from Mowden, who were so friendly & helpful, the complete opposite of Darlington Rugby Club. Ground looks fine & ready to go.

The pitch is far from ready to go.

The pitch has just been prepared recently so looks bare for now but will be in good nick by October 10th.

Got to say the place didn’t look anything like some have made out .”Rusting hulk”, “falling apart” and all that nonsense.
Yes it’s a bit tired looking here and there but a few more volunteer days by the usual Dads Army group that were there yesterday would soon have the place sorted.
Actually forgot how big it is inside and one things for sure.Nobody can complain about not being able to see the action!!

I’d agree some of the Arena haters (Raj) would have you think it was falling down. It does need a full deep clean on the outside and a lick of paint which I believe was in hand before the council pulled out of the sporting village.

The concourses were a mess too. I wouldn't be keen on buying food from any of the old kiosks without a serious deep clean.

How does licensing work for these sort of things? If the building as a whole is licensed to sell food surely those kiosks would have caused a problem if not clean - if it is able to be adjusted kiosk by kiosk re-opening them would trigger an appropriate visit.

Arrgh! Looks like all the hard work was in vain as Boris just announced no crowds at all sporting events.🤬
