York City £2.5M richer!!
York City £2.5M richer!!
Surely they can't mess it up this time!!

My mate supports York and he told me about this potential deal in the last winter window but it never materialised. £2.5M cash injection is a huge amount for a club playing in the 6th tier of English football.

If only we could produce a similar talent... That sort of money could fund our own stadium.
York will probably just waste it.

A lot of pressure on Watson this season to get them up the way he has been signing players.H1987 wrote:If only we could produce a similar talent... That sort of money could fund our own stadium.

He's already got a squad of 25 full time professionals so not sure how he's going to manage that lot and bring more players in at the same time.QUAKERMAN2 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 12:18 pmA lot of pressure on Watson this season to get them up the way he has been signing players.H1987 wrote:If only we could produce a similar talent... Well one things for sure they don't need a Government bailout
Help get the club back to Darlo by helping to spread the word about the "Back to Darlo!" fund. So 25 full timers on say £1k each per week, could be burned through in a couple of years or straight into pockets of Jason McGill.....

Bet they take it though.poppyfield wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 12:37 pmWell one things for sure they don't need a Government bailout
Could be the Chairman’s chance to get his cash back and get out.

I’d honestly be surprised if this massively changes much for York on the playing side. McGill is owed £8 million, he probably sees this as pay back for all the money which his company has put in to the club (and lost) over the years.
A little bit like when we received that windfall for Dan Burn, it just absorbed the losses.

McGill might be owed £8m but he’s sitting on a load of land that BC sits on plus the 2.5m bonus so I reckon he’s doing ok.

I didn’t say he wasn’t?
Even better for him that he can sell BC, with this windfall on top what a tidy profit.....

If this isn’t “tongue in cheek” (?) I will point out that the Gov bailout represents lost ticket sales and York will be losing more money than most.poppyfield wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 12:37 pmWell one things for sure they don't need a Government bailout
