Re: Leamington game off
Covid causes postponement
We have tonight been informed that our away Vanarama National League North game against Leamington on Saturday has been postponed.
We have been informed by our opponents and the league that some members of the Leamington squad have unfortunately tested positive for Covid 19, and as a precaution Saturday’s game is postponed.
No new date has yet been set for the fixture.
We hope that the Leamington players recover soon.
Quakers’ next game is now the Emirates FA Cup tie at home to Cambridge City on Saturday 24th October, kick off 3pm, behind closed doors. The game will be covered on Quaker TV

Re: Leamington game off
Its a shame for those involved wish them well.
On another note gives some of our injured players a bit more time for recovery.

We need to hope we don’t get the same issue before the cup game and need to forfeit it.

Re: Leamington game off
Poppyfield was right about the extra time for injured players to recover, but offset that with the ring rust building up. Thought Tadcaster was an ideal game for us to regain a bit of confidence, just hope we can repeat it with Cambridge City and no-one was counting on any cash from Premier League / EFL deal

Re: Leamington game off
It's a pity the game has been called off, as hopefully we were about to build some momentum. Playing 2 games a week may come as a bit of a shock to our players once the season gets really started.
Re: Leamington game off
When exactly do you expect that to be. At least 20% of league games are being postponed at the moment and we have only just started entering into enhanced measures.Darlo_Pete wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2020 6:31 amPlaying 2 games a week may come as a bit of a shock to our players once the season gets really started
Re: Leamington game off
Could be a blessing for us with a number of injuries in the squad. Hopefully Campbell and maybe others will be fit for Cambridge City. Also gives our 3 new signings time to bed in and get to know the rest of the players, although Omar should feel at home.
Lets us focus 100% on the Cup and gives AA the chance to run the rule over Cambridge this weekend.

Re: Leamington game off
Wheatley has a groin strain and Reid a knock in the hip as well as all the others so for me this really is a blessing.
Re: Leamington game off
I actually agree with him. It's a real worry (financially) that we've been given a decent opportunity on the pitch to get to the FA Cup first round, but COVID could scupper this. Players and staff need to be as sensible as possible to try not to get it between now and then (obviously they'll already know this). No games between now and then, so just training and everyday lifeEmdubya wrote: ↑Thu Oct 15, 2020 10:32 pmWow!.What a ray of sunshine you are.Dont forget to put your hazmat suit on next time you go outJasonDeVos wrote: ↑Thu Oct 15, 2020 9:36 pmAnd the house of cards starts to collapse.poppyfield wrote: ↑Thu Oct 15, 2020 9:16 pmIts a shame for those involved wish them well.

Good news for today: despite not playing, we can’t fall more than one position down the league table (groan).

With Chorley currently losing we are out of the relegation zone.
"The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!"
