If eligible O'Neill will be up against an ex team mate when we play Bristol Rovers. Ben Liddle (Craig junior) plays for Bristol Rovers - I guess knowing how to play against each other goes both ways!

Another year older and greater experience. Tyrone will do us well until Charman is fit again

I think what the signing shows is that it’ll be Charman, Maguire & O’Neill vying for that starting spot upfront with Campbell now moving out wide or in to an attacking midfield position.

I think Alun has realised, if he hadn’t already, that after last Saturday we need a centre-forward that sticks on the centre-halves all game. It was too symptomatic of last season. Campbell is at his best roaming & dropping deep to create but after that we had no options through the middle.

So excited by this. The montage of his goals when he was last here shows his talent.

Are we really only going to old play one of the three? Feels like a waste but then again squeezing in all our attacking players is a struggle when they are all fit (Rivers, Campbell, Sousa, O'Neill, Maguire and Charman).

As great a signing this is, where is the money coming from..... Hard Times yet we seem to be signing top players who aren't guaranteed to start

I'd fully expect Boro to be covering O'Neill's wages.

Far as I am aware:
Amantchi and Hudson are on non-contract terms.
Holness is pay as you play.
Minter's wages are covered by Harrogate.

So hardly a big of sum being paid out since the start of the season, would only expect us to be covering Sousa's wages as he's signed a contract.

Maybe it's a case of we're going to let 2 goals in most matches ...so better score 3 lol

Alun doesn’t really deviate from one up top. He was the same at Blyth.

The role Alun asks his centre-forwards to play is quite physically demanding so plenty of rotation is needed. Maguire won’t be capable of playing the full 90 today and the only alternative is Amantchi who isn’t as good as Ty.

Charman is currently carrying an injury and Maguire is currently getting back up to speed. Alun has also mentioned that Ty can play as a No.10 which fits quite nicely in his preferred 4-2-3-1 formation.

As Andy has mentioned, 3 of our squad are currently on non-contract terms and 2 are on loan where I would expect the majority (if not all) their wages are covered.

Should also add that McMahon is Head of the Academy which is also cost-effective for the club.

We only actually have 18 contracted players.

You wonder whether he might be considering plan B if we continue to struggle to break down teams home.

It is early days mind. So certainly not panic stations on that.

In the interview with Ray, AA does mention that he has unfortunately let a player go to bring in O'Neill. I think it's probably Amanchi as he was on non-contract terms and is straight out of the squad today. Shame for the lad but I guess that's what happens when a player with O'Neill's potential and known ability is offered, you don't turn it down.
"The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!"

O'Neill seemed to play deeper when he came on, behind Maguire and with Campbell and Sousa wide - quite surprised at that given at the time we were 1-0 so in effect went more offensive.

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.
