Curtis Main
Curtis Main
Gone to Shrewsbury
Re: Curtis Main
Good luck to him - it's been gratifying to see a Darlo boy, literally with Curtis, go on and have a decent career. I've always felt Boro made a mistake letting him go. Are we hoping he might come back home at some point?

Re: Curtis Main
To be honest I’ve not followed his career since he left the Boro, how’s he been getting on? Anyone.
Wish him well at his new club.

Re: Curtis Main
He has been in Scotland for the last few years playing in the Premier League for Motherwell and Aberdeen. Think he was on the losing Motherwell team in the Scottish FA Cup final a couple of years ago.Darlopartisan wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 12:13 pmTo be honest I’ve not followed his career since he left the Boro, how’s he been getting on? Quite surprising how many of our former players from the Arena days are still playing considering we left there nearly nine years ago.
Curtis Main (Shrewsbury)
Dan Burn (Brighton)
Ryan Bowman (Exeter)
Michael Smith (Charlton
David Stockdale (Wycombe)
I am sure there may be others. Also there are several players who were loaned to us who are still going strong.
Jordan Pickford (Everton)
Jasper Schmeichel (Leicester)
Kyle Lafferty (Reggina in Italy)
David Wheater (Oldham)
Adam Reach (Sheffield Wed)
Danny Graham (Sunderland until last week)
Incredibly there is a player still playing in the FL who we sold when we played at Feethams.
Answers on a postcard please.
Re: Curtis Main
There's another player who played for us at Feethams (albeit on loan) still playing and now at WBA - Andy Lonergan

Michael Smith is at Rotherham now, not Charlton.

Re: Curtis Main
And a couple more Dean Gerken Colchester City (another pretty decent keeper we had on loan) and Billy Clarke Bradford City (famously scoring 4 at Macclesfield during his time with us).
Carl Tremarco may count if you include Ross County from across the border...

Re: Curtis Main
They all sound like they should be on some sort of Commons select committee, but that trio of Staunton loanees (Hogg, Collins and Davis) have each gone on to have pretty decent FL careers.real_darlo_85 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 8:22 pmJonathan Hogg at Huddersfield to add to the list of former Arena loanees.

Re: Curtis Main
Jamie Devitt just signed for Barrow having been at Blackpool.
"At a meeting held at the Grammar School on Friday last - Mr Phillip Wood M.A., in the chair - it was resolved to form an Association Football Club for Darlington and neighbourhood. The opinions of those present were so unanimous as to the desirability of this step, that a committee was formed to complete the organisation of the club, and Mr Craven, 17, Garden Street, was appointed secretary pro tem." - The Northern Echo, Monday 23rd July 1883
Re: Curtis Main
James Collins who scored 2 goals on loan for us from Aston Villa in 2010 scored for Luton today.

Re: Curtis Main
when was Kyle Lafferty on loan?
Re: Curtis Main
Must have been late era Hodgson. He scored our first goal the day Phil stamp went in goal v Notts county.
Re: Curtis Main
We got money from Lafferty didn't we when he returned to England? We were classed as part of his development so part of the beneficiaries when his fee was agreed by tribunal.

Re: Curtis Main
Curtis did ok-ish up here in Scotland when at Aberdeen. Was viewed as a physical player but I think because he adapted his game to suit up here. Had to compete with Sam Cosgrove who is an absolute monster of a player.Darlopartisan wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 12:13 pmTo be honest I’ve not followed his career since he left the Boro, how’s he been getting on?
