Double Signing
2 new signings
Kelvin Jack and Chris Senior sign, very good signing in my opinion
Re: 2 new signings
Thats two decent keepers for the conference and a striker who knows where the goal is in that league, SD seems to have his head screwed on.
Looking forward to seeing who the next few players are....

Re: 2 new signings
This is encouraging. While Jack hasn't played a huge amount of first team games in his UK career, he's got plenty of experience and wouldn't have been signed by so many clubs if there wasn't something about him.
Chris Senior looks like a good solid Conference forward who averages about 1 in 3 at that level. Plenty of Conference experience, which shows that Davey appreciates we need a certain sort of player.

A good experienced keeper who'll certainly keep Sammy on his toes and a striker who knows the division and scored 15 goals in a crap Altrincham team.
Davey is certainly starting to impress me now.

Great news, SD knows exactly what we need, although its still early, already there is an air of optimism which would of never existed under SS.

Re: 2 new signings
This is good positive news once again from Davey. Kelvin Jack could be vital role for us in keeping the goalkeepers number 1 spot up for grabs.
As for Senior, he always seem to score, so he could prove to be a decent signing.
In Davey we trust.

We'll have to see some new signings now!
Unsure why he would go full time unless he has lost his job at Sheffield United?

Oh blimey!
We REALLY need a couple of strikers from somewhere now (unless GH has already got someone lined up?)
Gutted. Thought CS was a cracking player who was committed to play for us for years to come. Just goes to show you never know.
On the other hand, I don't begrudge him FT football for a few years (even if he has dropped us in it somewhat!)

As heartbreaking as this news is, I'd like to wish Chris all the best and to also thank him for the commitment and passion he's always shown since he's been with the club. In a stupid sort of way I'm glad he joined a club like Darlington and not someone like Fleetwood.
I guess we've just got to put our trust and belief in GH and KM that they will find replacements who are up to the job. They found a couple of gems last season and we must believe they can do it again.
It's also got to be absolutely nailed on now that we'll play Darlington first game of the season!

This is really worrying. I hope GH can secure the services of the rest of the somewhat depleted squad.
Where is the cash injection going to come from to entice some new players?

With Kelvin Jack signing and talk of this O'Neil Thompson, we are fast becoming Simon Davey's Rasta Army. It's going to cost a fortune in different flags for the arena.

Simon Davey has added a goalkeeper and a striker to his squad

Re: Double Signing
Seems like 2 good signings. Jack sounds like a decent keeper (plus have we ever had someone who's played at a World Cup playing for us before?!). Senior could be a cracking signing. 15 goals for Altrincham, hopefully he'll match that for us, at least.
Re: Double Signing
Also I like this quote from Altrincham's message board
"looks like darlington have learnt from the mistakes of others and are getting decent conference players for their instant push back to league footy"
It seems like you need a certain type of player for BSP football, and Davey has signed one. Davey has impressed me with everything he's done so far. All the signings sound promising. the retained list is just about right. He's saying all the right things. Hopefully he can keep it up

Quietly confident that we should at least be able to compete in the top half of the BSP now without too much trouble. Keeping situation appears to be sorted thank God! However, with two good keepers one will be dissapointed at being on the bench so may ask to leave after a while if he feels he was promissed first team football perhaps? Hope not though. Striker looks ok but we need another proven one to play alongside him. Looks like we are building a solid team who should play some of the best football we've seen for quite a while at the Arena.
