York City - potential striker crisis

Post by Charlie_Darlo » Thu Sep 02, 2010 9:52 pm

Today's York Press, as well as carrying a story on Brodie leaving, had a front page story on Michael Rankine and Michael Gash facing potential jail sentences for a night club fight. They will be sentenced in October.

Michael Gash must rival Danny Shittu for having the most unfortunate name for a footballer.

Its a shame they won't be sentenced before we play York on 27th.

Add to those two the Brazilian signed by Celtic a few years back. His name was SCHEIDT. With the song that goes "You're sh1te and you know you are" being so popular up there, they didn't dare put his surname on his shirt and had to use his first name (can't remember what it was, onset of Alzheimers probably)

Haha, never heard of that Scheidt bloke, but I seem to remember a goalkeeper called Quim, played for a Portuguese team in the Champs league. That amused me somewhat.

Hodgy had a Portugese striker on trial with us years ago with the name Quim. Think its a common name down that way.

Another dodgy name was the German Kuntz.

Stefan Kuntz was a classic

I remember one of my first even fantasy teams in around 97 was called 'We love to watch Kuntz dribble.....'

Another comedy footballer's name was Uwe Fuchs, a 'boro striker in the mid-90s.
Everyone is entitled to my opinion!
