Two More Sign But Hoult Return A No Go
by Scott Thornberry - 22nd October 2009
Steve Staunton has added two more players to his squad with Mor Diop and midfielder David Davis join. Staunton had hoped to add free agent Richard Jackson to his team but the defender pulled out at the 11th hour after spending the last two weeks training with the club.
Mor Diop is carrying an injury and is also waiting for international clearence so will not be available for this weekends game. But David Davis should go straight into the squad.
Meanwhile Notts County have refused to allow Russell Hoult to return to The Quakers on loan as their first choice keeper Kasper Schmeical is carrying an injury.
Talking of the departures of Hoult and Devitt, Staunton said “I did not allow them to leave - I had no choice.
“Russell was called back to Notts County because Kasper Schmeichel has an injury while Jamie assured me he was coming back to the club but then went to Shrewsbury, which was disappointing. You have no control over that situation.
“As for Kevin,I let him go because I have signed four centre-forwards and because I could not give him assurances over being in the first team.”
