Darlos Coming Home

darlos coming home

Work is now well underway at Blackwell Meadows as both Darlington football and Rugby Clubs build their futures together.

Work was delayed slightly due to all of the funding, including grants, being pulled together.  But now diggers are on site, fences are being built and currently the foundations are being put in place in preparation for the erection of the original tin shed from Feethams.

The pitch has been seeded and leveled and the rugby club are not playing on the pitch until all of the work is complete.

As Darlington start the season well on the pitch it has been fantastic news to see work start off the pitch also.  Heritage Park has been a fantastic place to rebuild our club but it is not our home.  Blackwell Meadows will provide us with a new home which we can build upon.  It is not ideal, the water main being my main concern, but beggars can't be choosers so lets just do this.

The fighting spirit of the fans to keep the club going has been mirrored on the pitch with some amazing memories created on our journey back up the leagues.

It will certainly be an emotional day when the club play their first game back in Darlington.

Lets keep this going!
