With rumours circulating about rumours about rumours, Raj Singh and Mark Cooper have issued a joint statement to try and quash everything.

On the official website Singh says "Wild rumours began circulating at half-time on Saturday that Mark had tendered his resignation, and nothing could be further from the truth.

"Mark assures me he was simply trying a new approach on Saturday. He's as desperate as we all are for this to work and was just trying something different.

"At the end of the day it didn't work out, but we move on, and we move on together.

"We've sat down today and had a good chat. There have been approaches from other clubs and Mark is fully aware of that, but he's happy to stay with us and we 100% want him here.

"Mark's appointment, together with Richard Dryden, has brought some stability to the club for the first time in a long time.

"A handful of bad results doesn't change our outlook. I'm happy with the job Mark and Richard are doing. Up until three games ago we were doing well and were steadily improving as a team.

"The last three results haven't been good, there's no getting away from that, but it doesn't mean we change things at the drop of a hat.

"This club needs stability right now, and we believe Mark Cooper and Richard Dryden are the men to take us forward.
