new keeper joins

Mark Cooper has brought in ex-Liverpool trainee goalkeeper Christopher Oldfield in as cover and goes straight into Darlington’s squad for tomorrow’s FA Cup tie at Mossley.

The 19-year-old shot-stopper, who had been with Chester of the Northern Premier League Division One side, has joined Darlington on a non-contract basis.

Oldfield, from Liverpool, was a trainee with the Reds before his release last summer.

He’ll be on Darlo’s bench tomorrow. Dan Lowson, meanwhile, who had joined Darlington on a non-contract deal, is set to join Luton on trial next week.

Strange that Lowson has moved on already, can't see him getting first team football at Luton either.

Suppose you could be right. Shame, as he sounded promising, but Russell is plenty good enough and hardly ageing, so you'd think we're fine in that department if he stays injury free.
