Porritt Returns To Boro

by Scott Thornberry - 14th September 2009

porritt returns to boro

He was once dubbed the next Stewart Downing, he was at the centre of the Bung inquiry which was brought about due to the BBC programme Panorama, but Middlesbrough winger Nathan Porritt failed live up to the hype surrounding him during his brief spell at the club and has returned to Teesside.

Porritt joined the club on a months loan in August and went on to make five appearences for The Quakers, making his professional debut against Crewe, a game we lost 1-0.

During his period at the club Porritt caused the fans some frustration, although showing plenty of pace he rarely managed to get past his man.  Todd will now be looking for a replacement as he continues to tinker with his struggling squad.

Thank god.

Bad attitude + poor physical condition.

RH79 - 14th September 2009 10:31:25

I was ver ydisappointed with him. Terrible attitude, poor condition clealry didnt want to be with us.

He will not be playing pro football when his contract runs out if he doesnt buck his ideas up. Good bye.

To be fair to the lad, if Darlow don't want him. he is officially on the scrapheap.

Not true, Brian Honour & Nicky Southall spring to mind straight away

I wonder if any of our other loanees will follow him? Were we paying anything towards his wage? If so then I guess at least that is freed up to help elsewhere?

TeessideQuaker - 14th September 2009 16:43:21

I'm glad to see the back of him. He flattered to decieve far too often for me.

Santino - 14th September 2009 16:57:05

No great loss. Lazy and bad attitude.

comeondarlo - 14th September 2009 17:12:09

I saw him play twice for us and I still don't know what he looks like........waste of space

as far as im aware the other loanees - cook, chandler & dowson are here until christmas, i would think todd would look for a fullback to come in in place of porritt

wylam_rangers - 14th September 2009 18:04:06

Complete embarrassment to his parent club. Lazy, sullen and big-headed. Ideal Premiershite material :P

doc_64 - 14th September 2009 18:30:19

about time, didnt rate him, what i seen of him on the pitch

hodgie1 - 14th September 2009 18:31:40

aye v disappointing, he wont be in league footie in 5 yrs time

RenoRaines - 14th September 2009 19:48:28

We have had good loan players and bad loan players. Some have come to the club, worked hard, got stuck in and have developed into top level players - Wheater and Pallister spring to mind but there have been others.

Unfortunately Porritt for me is not in this batch and I suspect he will be playing non-league football in 5 years time doing 18 step overs and tripping himself up.

robsraiders - 14th September 2009 19:58:14

The lad did not want to play for us he was probable on 5x more money than any of our players, he never once beat a man to get a cross in.

With his attitude he will not be very high in pecking order at Boro. :problem:

darlojc - 14th September 2009 19:59:06

Heard he has the free role when playing for boro acad/reserves,no wonder he didnt like tracking back!
Surely Todd must use his space to geta full-back or two.

Windass40 - 14th September 2009 21:02:13

Glad he has gone he did nothing atall waste of a loan deal.

crapname - 14th September 2009 22:34:27
