Re: Kevin Dos Santos Signs, Charman New Contract

As an aside, why are Ray Simpson’s first few questions in any new signing interview a potted history of his career? “Kevin, welcome to Darlo. You started your career with…..” Does it every time and it’s not particularly engaging. I want to know about the player. Who he is, what AA said to him, how h...

Players on trial

Kevin Dos Santos has now signed. Very much in the Sousa mould by the looks of things.

Cole Kiernan was on trial but seems like Colchester are taking a look at him too, so he may not be involved tomorrow.

Players on trial

Clearly the Covid cases in the squad have had an impact. AA will have wanted to look more at triallists in pre-season before making a decision but clearly that’s not been able to happen. And he’s been waiting on decisions from the likes of O’Neill (and potentially Wheater) or Sousa earlier in the wi...

Think that’s more a reflection on Dover’s position to be honest. They’ve gone part-time this season

By the looks of thing Caton has had a spell at Nuneaton since leaving us, and not a great deal else.

Oh come on now, if you’re going to get the last word you need something better than that. “I know you are, said you are but what am I?” won’t cut it I’m afraid. Try again. Is there anyone who didn't expect it to happen? You've seen what happened to other murals. Did he think it was going to bring peace and harmony to the world? People don't tend to think of England players who missed crucial peanlties as heroes. In the past England players took awful abuse. An efigy ...

OK Rambo. I’ll leave you to tug yourself off at the idea of me getting clobbered. You’re like the 12-year-old cry-bully at school. You walk around talking about people getting “a bat”. Doesn’t sound too optimistic about the Northallerton game either.

For a side with a lot of new signings who need to gel, this is not good at all.

I get the feeling this season will be incredibly competitive. We’ve got a backlog after no promotion this year. Would expect Gloucester and Fylde to be strong, and as YorkFan points out, other sides like Boston have strengthened. Chorley could be another. They turned things around after bottoming ou...

There is always an element of uncertainty when it comes to modelling and I'm confident that if there was even a slight chance the NHS may become overwhelmed we would not proceed next week. That assumes competence on the part of Boris Johnson and the Government. As we’ve seen, they were too slow loc...

Oh, and if we think it’s bad now, wait until cases are hitting hundreds of thousands each day. There'd be no one left to infect in no time, if that were the case. As it happens, I don't think we'll get much past 50k a day. Take that up with the Health Secretary. He’s the one who was suggesting the ...

Also loan_star, something is not quite right about your doctor friend. You’ve either made him up, or he knows nothing and should be struck off. It's not an inconvenience in the slightest as that statement about not being interested is just that, a statement and a subjective one at that. I bet most of it's down to players getting notification from the NHS app. Uninstall it I say! Given we have positive cases in the squad, that’s the last thing we should be doing. Think also, usually the season would end last weekend of April (it did in 18/19, the last completed season).

But the last April weekend is a Bank Holiday, so the season finishes a week later. Which means one fixture can be taken out of that crammed August naturally.
