Re: Player update - Rose, Charman et al

Squad is looking rather thin if we don’t make any progress with anyone.

Taylor; Griffiths, Ellis, Storey, Smith; Purver, Hatfield, Wheatley; Rivers, Cassidy, Lambert.

Hedley, Dos Santos, O’Neill plus a couple of youngsters.

Well…if he ends blocking us signing players in a pique of irrational temper, then I do care.

(Not saying that’s the case with Lawlor, just speaking generally).

Re: Luke Charmans value

And as I said, the context surrounding those deals was very different to League 2 now. We’ve had a global financial crisis and a pandemic since then time. Plus as it later transpired, Houghton’s running of the club was entirely unsustainable. Not many current League Two , if any at all, would be abl...

Luke Charmans value

Agreed. Can't we imagine us doing the same thing when we were a League Two side. But we did spunk 100 grand on a 32 year old Joachim And on Pawel Abbot as well (which may be Lo’s point - can never quite tell with him). However Abbot and Joachim were established players, two of the best in the divis...

Luke Charmans value

Spyman’s analysis is pretty much spot on. If you look at it from a buying club’s point of view, Charman is clearly talented, but is playing part-time in the sixth tier for a side that has, for the most part been bottom half to mid-table this season. Moreover, he’s had an excellent half a season, but...

Farsley game

Just watched the goals and they were great, but lets not get ahead of ourselves Farsley looked terrible. I recognised the ref from previous games at Blackwell - he is clueless. The same Farsley that recently put 3 past the "the best team we have played at Blackwell this season" and who also held Br...

Farsley game

With Charman out of the Farsley game I'd expect us to stick with playing some variation on 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1. Still plenty of good players in the team below and capable of beating teams in this league but we really need the likes of Cassidy, Hatfield, Lambert and Rivers to step up with some goals an...

Re: AA interview

After listening to alun I am not sure the speculations regarding luke Charman are 100% .he's still saying he wants to keep Luke. Maybe it's been hyped by fans expectation. What a performance Charman gave yesterday. Probably just playing it cool and not wanting to sound like we are desperate to sell...

Rochdale are interested also and National League team showed interest previous and one in our division. I would assume they will be plenty more for a player who can score goals with feet or head, close, outside the box and no doubt left foot/right foot. His work rate is outstanding and the fact he ...

Seems we’re back in for him. AA is need of a striker given we’ve only really got Cassidy in support of Charman. Nelson’s injury means unfortunately he can’t be relied upon. Also interesting to read about a National League club coming in for Charman over the summer. Fair play to Charman for not throw...

Old git. What are you basing your assessment of Lexus Beedon on the lad hasn't had a chance to show what he has/hasn't got. Can't be judged on so very little time spent on the field. He must have had something for AA to sign the lad remember he's only just 21. I don't know we can only trust in AAs ...

Rivers was ill. Mondal didn’t play any worse than anyone else really. I don’t think he’s looked as good as I’d hoped he’d be, but he’ll be the scapegoat for some Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Hardly a glowing tribute. Let’s face it he has been a major disappointment and he is not the only one....

No. Simply explained why he may have got a particular decision incorrect. What is your alternative theory he deliberately got it wrong? No, simply that he’s a poor referee who succumbed to unconscious bias for multiple reasons (home team pressure, making the earlier mistake with Thompson, highly ch...

Interesting debate apart from the "I know who you are" stuff. I'd expected more grown up behaviour from a grandad who is usually so eloquent. Unless you've been the man or woman in the middle it's difficult to understand how difficult the job is. Trying to watch the whole game, keep up with play an...

Know we had a tough game 2 days ago but why didn’t we press them like we did Fylde, even from the start it was like they had a spare man and just passed it around. Yet when we got the ball, wham, Gateshead player or players straight at us and we had nowhere to go. You’ve answered your own question....

You’re never going to criticise referees as it might affect your own progress, so you’ll defend them. Your own bias undermines your credibility I’m afraid. Pretty sure I said he got them wrong? I can see why he got it wrong based on position and angles. Using stills from the opposite side of the gr...

No. It was an explanation of why a referee does suffer and it isn't just all things line up to support the decision. A red card in the 85 minute which if it's incorrect gets overturned isnt going to have any lasting impacts on anyone but the official. The suggestion there is some sort of ploy to 'b...

Re: Spennymoor game

Spennymoor's pumped up attitude is only going to get worse with the gruesome twosome now in charge. Personally when games get too nasty and too extreme I find them not enjoyable, the Ramsgate/Darlo match at Heritage Park springs to mind here. Can’t remember us ever playing Ramsgate. You mean Ramsbo...

Ok Gramps you win the Darlo fans were a disgrace. Enjoy the game on Boxing Day which I am guessing you will be watching in the seats with the Spennymoor fans as you won’t want to stand with the rabble. Dear me, I was expecting something much more intelligent than that. Once your Chardonnay hangover...

Pete is Pete. He's known to loads of people, including me. So let’s get this right. Despite being exactly like Ted, Ed says he isn’t Ted.
