Aaron Martin leaving South Shields - could be the big physical striker we were looking for ?
Not done much up there but done well prior to that

I thought it was Main , Nelson and Hatfield under contract for next season - with doubts over Asante (I have a feeling his is contracted though)

Re: Darlington V Chorley
Rivers is fine to bring on for 20 minutes if you have a lead and you just need someone to keep the ball but his influence when starting games is minimal. You cant have been there on saturday then, Rivers was one of the few that had a good game and also played Main through for the first goal. :crazy...

Re: Darlington V Chorley
I think I would try something different against Chorley, we know they are a good team and one we don't traditionally do well with. Young Griffiths - Lees - Lawler / Siddick (if fit) - Barrow Headley - Hatfield - Platt Cornish Main - Rutlidge Rationale for me is that Headley has looked good going fo...

For me is keep the following -
Griffiths , Hedley , Lees , Barrow , Platt , Hatfield, Salkeld , Cornish , Nelson , Main
Undecided on Lindley and Rivers at this point , the rest I think we should move on

Where’s Windass, ? Anyone. Not that he’s a big miss, just someone else on the wage bill I suppose. Gone I think He trained last week , not sure if things have changed now Squad looks really thin at the minute with the amount of injuries , I’m really surprised we haven’t got anyone in on loan as yet

Re: Darlington v Buxton
Another really insightful update! Again no mention of new signings or clarification on injuries - I find it staggering that these questions aren’t asked. SW appears the type of straight talking manager who would say it exactly as it is so surely just ask ? Or do we really think that keeping this inf...

Re: Boston v Darlington 20/02/24
I see Siddik went off with a hamstring injury tonight. It appears he missed 9 months in 22/23 with a serious hamstring injury whilst at Crystal Palace. Another player who cannot stay fit. Thank you, Josh Gowling. This season has been one big - totally unavoidable - nightmare. And apparently Sukar i...

Really poor from our side - I always thought that clubs agree when a signing will be announced ?
We seem so far off the mark with keeping fans informed it’s crazy , fan engagement at an all time low for me

Re: Darlington v Alfreton 10/02/24
Who’s contracted for next season? Bar those, I’d probably only want to keep Hatfield if he’s not in the above. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Hatfield , Nelson and possibly Asante. Not sure on Main. Priority for me is ensuring Steve W and Terry M are with us. Can you imagine relegation with no ...

Re: Darlington v Alfreton 10/02/24
I’d go with as close to the same side and shape that comprehensively beat Hereford
Siddick in for Lawlor if Lawlor is out and maybe Barrow in for Hedley - the rest id keep the same unless we can somehow add a winger or two before Saturday

Barrow and Jameson are two excellent signings who improve us without question

Re: Scott Barrow - new signing
Great signing, highly regarded at Gateshead and York before his recent injuries. Mitch Hancox could be the next through the door, a Watson signing for York and looks like his loan will end at Hartlepool on the 6th. Can he bring Cedric Main with him too - must have played at Blyth under Terry Mitche...

Re: Who next?
There's zero evidence to suggest that Martin Gray has the skillset required in our current situation. He succeeded when he had the biggest, or one of the biggest budgets in the division, while he was supported by a scout who had huge knowledge of the local non League game in Harry Dunn. He's not wo...

Re: Gloucester (A)
On a separate note, I’ll never understand the meltdown when Sukar gets dropped. Lawlor is better, no matter what people want to say, so it’s a no brainer he comes in. It was a no brainer to play Burton when we had him too. Probably since people were praising Gowlings handling of Sukar and how the p...

Re: Darlington V Rushall
To be fair our transfer listing of players was a pretty poor effort. We didn't actually send a circular round other clubs who might be interested. Obviously just dependent on word of mouth. I got the news of Warrington and Scarborough transfer listing players yesterday. I got Chester's last Monday....

Re: Darlington V Rushall
The Taylor and Sukar situations tell us that the manager says one thing but the grapevine (often coming from people who know) tells us something to the contrary. What situations? You mean dropping poorly performing players? And trying to sell them? We’ve got to judge the manager on actual events no...

Re: Darlington V Rushall
We have taken 8 points from 6 games - an average of 1.333 points per game
If we can keep this up over the next 26 games that would give us 50 points - would that keep us up ?
We can’t afford to be throwing points away like we have this week though

I said it many times Jacob Hazel is a goal scorer he needs to have a target man beside him to allow him to run onto the ball , his work rate of the ball is good some fans can't see the wood from the trees.I would back Jacob to come good with the right setup  I might be wrong and know it wa...

Set to be announced on loan from York City, Taylor won’t be returning. For me he would be a good signing , has kept over 20 clean sheets when on loan at Scarborough, was also very highly rated by Andy Collet who wasn’t a bad keeper himself For me Whitley and Burton are the types of players who shou...

What I found strange or bizarre was how we defended corners, never seen it before unless it’s in the dying seconds of a game where you are hanging for a point or three. Everyone in the penalty area, in fact the only person not in or around the box was there goal keeper. Normally you leave one or tw...
