Re: Retained list
We could actually field a reasonably strong team with those we have right now. Not one that will make the play-offs without some additions, but not one that would be relegated either. Contrast that with our position 12 months ago - a big difference.

Re: Retained list
I come on this forum to read and discuss DFC viewpoints. Arguments are part and parcel of that - it makes for interesting debate. But today two threads have been completely ruined by ridiculous arguments that have nothing to do with DFC. For the sake of users who frequent this board to read and disc...

Re: Retained list
I'm sad to see Cassidy and Wheatley go. Cassidy drew mixed responses from most fans. If you judge him by goals scored then he wasn't a hit, and I guess goals are what most people judge forwards by. But for me his work rate was immense and he brought a different dimension to our team. I don't know wh...

Alfreton have never looked back since we missed those pens. We’ve done the opposite unfortunately. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Interesting to see what they would do if they make the play-offs and win. They had a vote just before we played them to decide whether they should apply for relegati...

Wonder what is happening with Tyrone O’Neill. Is he injured or just out of favour? Likely to be released by Scunthorpe I would think, but would we be looking to sign him for next season? If he just needs some time to regain full fitness he could be worth taking a chance on, but the memory of Andrew...

e4sby, what's your beef with ray the guy has done more for Darlington FC than most. No beef at all with Ray, I just think the media side of things would be much improved if he let someone younger help with interviews. It's the small things of reporting/asking questions about injuries/contract lengt...

Re: Alfreton V Darlington
An interesting note from their chairman in yesterday's programme. He said he had tabled a question through the members structure of the club: Should the club, although solvent with no debts, consider applying for relegation? It seems like it is annual question as part of the club's structure. He wro...

Really enjoyed that performance tonight. Deserved a victory and should have won by a wider margin. Cassidy was excellent in my opinion. Well taken goal and a handful for their defenders throughout. Exactly the type of performance we were missing when they thumped us at their place. Looking at the r...

Another factor on him going I think is where we are in the League. If we were sitting pretty in the playoffs with a chance of going up I don't think he would have gone. I've just listened to the James Rowe (Fylde manager) after their win at Spenny, and he said he has tried to sign Will in the past ...

Bit of a surprise to say the least but apparently offered fantastic money and a chance to go back full time. Didn’t think for one minute that he would be tempted away for full time football at his age. Just shows you how much money talks and how little loyalty most players have to clubs these days....

I would keep Taylor, Hedley, Smith, Wheater, Ellis, Rose, Hatfield, KDS, Lambert, Mondal , Moke (don't know); like to keep Wheatley and Storey but believe lack of play even when been reasonable in the team they will eventually move on. Lawlor, Thompson and Oneil good signings but can we afford them...

Four wins from five, five games unbeaten, two against sides chasing promotion and clean sheets in the last two games. Just not good enough. Why are we not putting four and five past sides like Fylde and Chorley? It's clear we can't score goals at one end and stop them at the other. And the players j...

Alun out.
Can't believe we only scored twice away from home at one of the league's top teams and failed to keep a clean sheet.
He's not the man to take us forward for the next season.
Lost the dressing room, I tell you. Lost the dressing room, he has.

So we won - an excellent three points and full credit to AA and the team. Have to say that I thought we were never going to win again as AA had put the dressing room somewhere and couldn't find it, the players didn't want to play for him, he hadn't been able to unearth a 30-goal a season striker sin...

Do you know that the focus of our appeal was on whether or not an elbow was used? Just interested to know if there is a source document...

Wonder if it would be a good idea for him to go out on loan to a lower level team to test his fitness. A month in the Northern League to get some game time and hopefully bag a few goals might just be what he needs to kick start his career. If after 5 months of rehab training with us you have to won...

Note how they edited out the appalling tackle on Lambert just before the penalty. Was it a particular highlight of the match - a foul? There was no caution for a tackle on Lambert before the penalty so assume it wasn't that stand out? Or are you perhaps showing a little bit of bias there in a persp...
