Re: Chester Away All ticket
When Ainge signed I remember our fans positively salivating at the prospect of a Styche/Ainge strikeforce ripping our rivals to shreds. Everyone seemed to consider it a phenomenal signing. It was also reported that his previous injury problems were behind him. Very true. I don't think there were to...

Re: Gateshead - ineligible for playoffs
I sincerely doubt the council are doing it for fun. Council budgets have been slashed to shreds since 2010. Particularly the ones that have been deemed to have voted incorrectly. They simply don’t have the money. This country is in an abysmal state and it ain’t local councils to blame. Wake up. Fee...

Re: Chester Away All ticket
Well yes, there is a fix. The club should only give out 1 year contracts as standard, with two-year contracts only in exceptional circumstances where the player has both a good injury record and a history of sustained performances at this level (i.e. a Mark Beck). I'd imagine that the players deman...

Re: Chester Away All ticket
It’s quite clear that Steve and Terry don’t want him. I’m hoping a club like Radcliffe will take him as Bernard and Jonno love him. I’ve lost count of the players we have signed that are not fit enough. We need to avoid injury prone players, at the very least not offer them long contracts! Sent fro...

Re: Chester Away All ticket
To be honest, one way we are going to be able to progress is taking chances on players. This includes players that probably wouldn’t be playing for us if they had a good medical history. Sometimes it will work out, sometimes it won’t. Jodi Jones has been a pretty good gamble in this regard for Nott...

Re: Chester Away All ticket
I didn't think he was injured to be honest just thought he was a desperate and ultimately poor signing. Having disappointing signings who end up persistently injured is not a particularly recent phenomenon. We had a brief reprieve from it when we had most players on non-contract terms but otherwise...

Re: Asante Starts
Maybe time for Steve and Terry to sit down with Asante and have a serious talk about his future. Maybe he just needs telling that he has no realistic future with us and offer him a reasonable financial settlement. Otherwise we could play hardball, make him travel up from Birmingham twice a week for...

Re: Gateshead - ineligible for playoffs
Just when you thought councils couldn't be any more unhelpful than Darlington Council, along come Gateshead Council. Labour no doubt. Fuck me, imagine the feeling of your own council actively destroying your club. I'd be burning with rage if I were a Heed fan. All the fans can do is try and vote the...

Looks like we should see Asante this afternoon, his shirt is hanging using the changing room at Chester Are you stalking the guy? I would like to see him start today so we can see for ourselves what he might have to offer. Don't forget we've already seen what he can offer over 7 glorious games unde...

So Asante is in the squad today, the premonition of him grabbing a brace in front of the jubilant Darlo fans is still on. Only there is nothing riding on it, thankfully.

Re: View from the Board/DJ
My understanding, council have no money to help, interest rates for stadium loan presently too high, a developer we were working with on a potential site (possibly Faverdale) has been beaten or gazumped by another developer who DJ will meet with shortly to see how much they want for earliest 26/27 ...

Re: Once the dust settles...
I don't believe that is the case. My understanding is that DRFC don't want development that would require their clubhouse to be replaced. Which essentially means BM could be developed sufficiently to mean NL standards but not to EFL. *If* we could move the pipe then that gives the full footprint of...

Re: Once the dust settles...
I think what I find frustrating in some of the new stadium discussion is over suitability to play in the football league. It’s pie in the sky when we don’t even look to be in much danger of escaping the national league north (upwards), let alone the level above it! If you're going to build a brand ...

Re: The Bottom Ten, Saturday Apr 13th 2024, Staying Up Edition
Next Saturday will be a good opportunity to give Asante a good 'run out', sorry I mean a good 'wander round the middle of the pitch' out I guess it would be dependent on whether he was contracted for next season or not. If his contract is up then there's literally no point. If his contract is for n...

That for me has been transformed by new additions, Main in particular. Would SW been able to do the same with Felix & Hazel? I personally don’t believe so. You don't believe that SW would have been able to do anything with Hazel, who scored 20 goals a season every season, and 21 goals in his first ...

Re: Well how did we do that?
Not me. Main is a better player in nearly every way IMO. His work rate, his thinking, the way he is determined to bundle his way through a defensive block, his team work ethic. Perhaps Hazel was better a placing a shot? But I can't remember. Don't get me wrong, I think Main has been amazing for us....

I was just pointing out that we've played worse teams than Farsley at BM.
And sadly (due to Clowning's incompetence) we blobbed them all. I'm not air brushing history for you Old Git. Especially because it gets on your tits.

Re: Darlington v Farsley 13/04/24
We’ve had a few 3-1 wins under Watson. I haven’t done my research, but I’d guess that was the most regular scoreline since he took over. Off the top of my head I can think of 4...plus two 4-0s. It's not just the fact that we've won so many since the dead and buried point (Alfreton home), it's the m...
