Re: Hecky rules again.

I think Paul Futcher might have been one of the others but he can't have been at Feethams that long. Was Paul Ward involved as well ? We must have been a popular club to manage then - early 90's ?

Re: Boston V Darlington

Have to say I am beginning to doubt whether Armstrong and Holloway have the tactical nouse to be successful at this level. You would think that a former striker and former defender would be an ideal mix in a management team but it doesn’t seem to be working. This is the third season they have had t...

Re: Boston V Darlington

 Anybody want a crystal ball ? I'm picking up that Darlo are a very difficult team to predict and the celestial forces that oversee these things cannot account for it.

 Just had my crystal football out and I can therefore forecast a 1-0 win for Darlo in classic away style.

Re: Chester Away

Just watched highlights and Chester had chances too but nearly every single one came from a cross into our box! If only we could defend crosses we would be in play off positions no doubt. Wish I knew the answer as we had two 6’3” centre half’s and still couldn’t defend them. Is it the full backs st...

Would we have settled for a point before hand ? Bit of a disappointment but that's because we expect more now - are Chester a lucky lot or what ?

Re: Southport...

Welcome Heaton Out. I can't see much wrong with your grammar or your views. As I said earlier I like AA and really enjoyed his managing our cup runs, but he's got a very difficult job and maybe he's worn out - what about some kind of sabbatical with Holloway taking the reins? It could be good for bo...

Re: Southport...

:problem: I'm struggling a bit with the team management and don't enjoy knocking AA after his recent illness ... but was it just coincidence that we played better when he was away and have slumped again now he's, thankfully, recovered? Also, his forthright responses after poor showings don't seem to...

I agree that we could edge it-clean sheets a good goalie and a very good forward line. Full marks for turning our season around
Let's win another one for the gaffer.

I'd like to hear more about that game - that was when celebrated tough guy Johnny Morrissey came up against John Peverill. Like to have seen that.

Re: Darlington Attendaces - One for the Oldies

Now I see that Spen is no stranger to controversy, but I think he has given us plenty to think about with this thread and I'm enjoying the debate. It may seem that govt. policies regarding free school milk have little to do with the nuances of football at Feethams, but there is a connection; when Br...

Re: Darlington Attendaces - One for the Oldies

Reynolds partner was totally out of order when she said that but we were struggling for a number of reasons then. The season OG and I remember was different - we were streets ahead of the rest and I still think it was the best Quakers side I saw - the spine of the 1966 team plus Lance Robson, Ken Ha...

Re: Darlington Attendaces - One for the Oldies

I have a bit of a problem with Quakers history around this time because I honestly suspect promotion was spurned in 68-69. I saw quite a few of those games and we were excellent - top for long periods and beating most of our rivals - then we didn't pick up a point in March, including letting a two g...

Re: RIP Martin Burleigh

Invariably known as Burly he was part of a middling team of likable lads as I remember - Lyons, Nattrass et Al who might have done better but I think he kept us in a few games and had a good rapport with the fans. Just the kind of player you want in a lower League team.

Re: Brackley away 14/9/21

8-) I hate to gloat but I have to say I'm gloating like mad (about another, partially, spot on prediction). I'd say the rest of the league will have noticed, not just because it was the only result to look at last night, but because it was such a good one. Regarding the sending off, it's well known ...

Re: Brackley away 14/9/21

 One - nil to Darlo and Nelson will score, Why not? There's a history of Quakers unlikely away wins when we're struggling; York a couple of seasons ago, Swindon in the cup - I saw us prevail at Port Vale once after we'd been dull at Hull and a second half stinkeroo at home to Crewe. I enjoyed ...

A step forward but someone needs to tell the squad we’re not playing off a two goal handicap. LOL but at least the second half come back got us somewhere this time. Re: Darlo v Bradford PA

Is Dave Hodgson still active as a players agent ? If he is AA might do worse than have a word. Anything to strengthen the team because there is a real danger of the side losing their way. The teams we've lost to are no great shakes and if the Quakers keep quaking God help us when we have to face Glo...
