Re: 2022/23 FINANCIAL RESULTS
Yes, we should be able to be competitive in this division. What didn't help was the previous policy of lowering of expectations by the powers that be - talk about shooting yourself in the foot. :( It reminds me of that Ratners jewellers thing, when Mr Ratner said that his products were total crap. ...

Re: The Bottom Ten, Tuesday Mar 12th 2024
Only disagreement is I think Kings Lynn will drop instead of Blyth. Hi EDJOHNS, It's a good place we are in when we're deciding who we think will be fourth bottom at seasons end, and Darlington isn't one of the teams. 100% agree. I don't want Rushall to drop for personal reasons, and always back No...

Re: National League TV.
I've had a couple of ropey ones but on the whole its been OK although not Quaker TV standard. Anyone know how much we've made from it? As we make just under a fiver per buyer I would not have thought it would be much, but every little helps. I doubt it would have many people stopping going to games...

Re: What's the point of fan ownership?
How could an individual do that)? The FA could simply have issued a replacement, but it suited their issues with our 3 trips to the begging bowl in 10 years to ignore that fact. Strange terminology. The fans help keep the club afloat, there's nothing bad about this, nothing secret about it. How abou...

Re: What's the point of fan ownership?
Ask any Rochdale fan who are currently in dire financial trouble e.g. need £2M to avoid liquidation. There are now 2 interested parties after an EGM decided to dilute the fans ownership by issuing 9 million new shares but seeking to retain the "golden share" which would allow them to protect the na...

I wish these meddlers would leave the game alone. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it! We’ll have Ghost on next advocating free kicks for throw ins. About 25 years ago the diadora League (isthmian league) trialled roll ons instead of throw ins for a season...all it did was encourage long balls in the bo...

Re: Darlington v Banbury 2/03/24
You know what, when I was looking at Matty warming up, windmilling his arms and flinging them from side to side I thought I was watching Tony Moor! That used to be what he used to do before every game.(Note to younger readers, he was our keeper in the 1960s and quite a good one). Good enough that E...

Isn't that pathetic. Why do they bother? They are putting out and subsidising a service that the locals don't want. If the people running the club can do so without massive losses, are enjoying themselves running a club, and have pride in it, what right has ANYONE to say it is "pathetic"? Ashton UL...

Re: Nice bit of trivia
I'm confused. Can you clarify the last team and the last to win something?!! The West Ham cup win in 1975 was the last all-English side to win a trophy in first-class football. GK 1 Mervyn Day DF 2 John McDowell DF 3 Lampard Sr. MF 4 Billy Bonds (c) DF 5 Tommy Taylor DF 6 Kevin Lock FW 7 Billy Jenn...

Looking at the survival fight, I noticed that Rushall are getting by with loads of loanees. They currently have seven loanees, all aged between 19 and 20, and all from clubs around the Midlands like Derby, Wolves, Walsall, Birmingham and Stoke. Not sure how many of them can feature together in a ma...

Yesterday marked the 25th aniversary of the last all-English Premier League side. "Not Darlo related, do-one" you scream? That team contained two players with Darlo connections. Who can guess who they are? And the last "All English" side to actually win anything were" ? I thought it was West Ham......

Do they honestly expect us to believe this is a completely unrelated groin injury to the groin injury that has seemingly plagued him forever. He does seem like a nice bloke so I really do hope it turns out well for both him and us but it might be best for us to just wrap it all in. And how would we...

As I said we were lucky with a couple of decisions that went our way, but you do make your own luck. I also agree that a different referee should have been appointed. The gap between the top clubs and the bottom clubs has never been so big as it is now. You may get to a point were Championship club...

Yes a great game, I think Wigan were a bit lucky with a couple of decisions, but our defence is world class and Bevan French and Jai Field are extra special. We were lucky with a couple of decisions, that could have gone the other way. I thought Penrith were very gracious in defeat and especially N...

Leeds is always a hard game for us at CP and so it proved yet again. Mid-afternoon I was wondering if it would be played at all because we had so much a hard rainfall. I know it cut up, but I think it held up quite well all things considered. Not sure why Leed's first yellow was not red under the ne...

Felt sorry for Castleford that the sending off shouldn't have happened. I think RL should adopt the same stance as Rugby Union, were there is a 10 minute period, were there is a revue and the decision is confirmed or the player returns after 10mins. Still Wigan did a professional job and rather wor...

Well not a good start lads gave everything, but why wasn't the tackle by Smith given only a yellow when our lad was tipped onto his head ? Then we get a man sent off for a lesser tackle that a yellow should be the call. Well done HKR a great display which should see them top 6 easily this season. L...

Yet again I ask, just what do you think we have for anyone to "invest" in? We are what is known as a paper club, ie, the only things we own are a few player's signatures on sheets of paper, some strips and a few balls. How much do you think our players will bring in investment? As far as I am aware...
