Re: 6 players leave

Good fun to speculate about signings as it always is at this time of year. No need for panic as I expect plenty of players will be getting released soon as the EFL season is about to finish.

Re: 6 players leave

The situation has just been exasperated somewhat by Campbell also signing for Gateshead. One of my favourite malaprops. In reference to Old Git's post further up, is 28/29 considered to be over the hill these days? I always thought the general consensus was that most players are generally in their ...

Re: Hartlepool By Election

Unprecedented for the Government to be thrashing the Opposition in a by-election after 11 years in power. Desperate result on a personal level for Kier Starmer as this was his first electoral test. The problem for the Labour Party is who would you replace him with?

Re: 6 players leave

More than coincidence that all 4 have rejoined Blyth they must have had this planned but we are hardly in a position to complain as they came to us as a bit of a job lot. Blyth have obviously decided that they need to bring in experienced players to survive next season. Looking at it realistically t...

Re: 6 players leave

AA must really rate him if he is giving him a third chance so really hope his faith is rewarded.
On the plus side Jamie is still only 23 so still young enough to prove himself. Good luck to him he deserves a break. Oops perhaps not the best way of putting it!

Re: Wheatley stays, Hunt and Saltmer released

Sure AA will have loads of players lined up. Minter might be a consideration as he is 3rd choice at Harrogate. Noticed their 2nd choice keeper was back for the trophy final Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Would happily have Minter back, he can't be happy being a 3rd choice keeper at a League to ...

Re: Wheatley stays, Hunt and Saltmer released

With all these players leaving, Campbell has been the only surprise to me. We're having a bigger rebuild than I thought, and it seems a little strange coming from a season that we never saw. AA did say after the Hornchurch game that he felt that changes were needed and looks like he meant it.Assumi...

Re: 6 players leave

It really is a major clear out. 8 players leaving and not sure whether Holness will be around so a massive rebuilding job for AA in the summer. Basically looks like a whole new defence required with possibly only Storey McMahon and Hedley left. Hatfield and Wheatley remain at the heart of the team a...

Re: 6 players leave

Given how badly we performed in the league last season, we were a soft touch, then I happy to get some new blood. Maguire was a flop and also injured a lot - so I am surprised he has been offered a deal elsewhere, but it will be most likely be Shields or Spenny. Watson - is a shame as he was always...

Re: Potential new local derbies

I don't think the home in time for tea relates to actions pre 1991. It is very much around behaviours which were seen post 2012. Note my last paragraph! As we only spent 1 season in the NL is it really worth worrying about anything that was said outside that season, and apart from Waste and Norton,...

Re: 6 players leave

It certainly is the end of the ex Blyth era. Will be interesting to see where Maguire Campbell and Liddle end up. Wonder if the other 3 could be on the way back to Blyth as it is hard to imagine any of them moving up the leagues. Next season is an important one as we really could do with finding som...

Re: Poolies Feeling The Pinch

According to DJ we were losing 50k a month in January and February so Poolie are surely losing a lot more at present. Raj may be able to carry on if they get promoted and have access to the TV money but if they do not gain promotion I wonder how long he will carry on for. I think their fans are righ...

Re: Potential new local derbies

The quality of teams in the Northern League is fast being eroded. Imagine if in 2012 we had been placed into a league which had not included Spennymoor South Shields Dunston Marske Hebburn and Shildon. We would have had it won by Christmas. Out of them teams there was only really Spenny who were a ...

and the reformation of our club by the fans We are not some tin pot, irrelevant club with fans who would allow it to die. We took over the club, we didn't reform it. I meant reformation in the sense that we reformed the way the club was run. I fully understand that we are and always have been Darli...

Re: Boost the budget 2021

I would like to think Ed that Darlo fans are a bit special. Having been through the turmoils of our recent history and the reformation of our club by the fans it has led to a particularly strong affinity between club and supporters. Lets just hope that continues to be the case going forward and we c...

You can’t blame them for going all out for it but if they don’t go up this season wonder if Raj will keep throwing money at it. Not sure he will be in it for the long term if they fail.

Re: Integrity in the National League!!

As more and more clubs have nothing to play for (as in they can't go up or down) then National League results will continue to become increasingly daft. Let's look at Wealdstone, players on Furlough and new ones brought in - last two results a 6 nil reverse to M'head and a 7/2 drubbing against Hart...

Tommy Miller

Not much of a surprise to see he has been confirmed as the permanent boss of Spennymoor.
Seems to make sense as he knows the club and players and will know where he needs to strengthen the squad for a promotion push next season.

Re: Stick yer ESL up yer ass

Warning shot, need control away from the money men. Correct this should be regarded as a massive wake up call for those running football in this country. Control of clubs by foreign super rich owners with no regard to the history and origins of their clubs has led to a massive discord between them ...

Hopefully a little common sense does prevail here. There are so many variables and different responses by different clubs. I do worry of all clubs we are actually in the worst position. At least the likes of Spennymoor just simply said we cannot and will not play the remainder of the season very ea...

Re: Appeal

Lets hope we are successful but given our past experiences with the FA I am not too confident. Likely they will close ranks with the NL and not want to rock the boat. As I would think a number of clubs are in a similar position surely a precedent will be set by our hearing or whoever is first before...

I see the bookies have the Conservatives as favourites to win the by-election. Labour should be walking a contest like this. Even if they win, it will be terrible news for Starmer, unless Labour can increase their majority. https://www.oddschecker.com/politics/british-politics/hartlepool-by-electio...

Re: Great piece on Two ex Darlo players

No intention to offend anyone but have always thought it was not just a coincidence that we were strapped for cash as usual and Kenny Dalglish stepped in to pay 500k for 2 relatively unknown youngsters from a 4th Division team. Robinson had played several games in the first team and Coppinger had no...
