Re: Luke charman

Let’s hope there are sell ons as will be a poor deal for the club if not. However, thinking back to last summer in the clubs defence. We had a largely untried youngster who at the time kept getting injured, probably didn’t look quite fit enough to play regularly and had not played very many games. ...

Scored a hat trick last night for Marske playing centre forward - I still think there could be a player in there hopefully
Good news maybe we have been playing him out of position and he could fill the Charman role playing off Cassidy.

Re: Luke charman

Probably depends on the terms of the release clause, which could stipulate all sorts - we don't know. It may only give the buying club permission to speak to the player. It might be £41k (rumoured) with future add-ons. We can only hope that any clause does give us some kind of opportunity to receiv...

Re: Luke charman

Rochdale is apparently where he is going and has played his last game for us. Thanks for the memories Luke and good luck with the rest of your career. A million pound move to the Championship in a couple of years would be nice if it means we pocket a nice little earner 😀

Re: Kidderminster Game

I think it's a mess but, if the question is why has he got to that place, what is the process. It is an awful lot easier from your armchair with hindsight and a video replay. Put it this way if that was a Darlo player felled you and many other would have likely been screaming for a foul not "play a...

Re: Kidderminster Game

I doubt Taylor just let it go. I think he just makes a mess of the save and we got extremely lucky. Why the referee initially signaled a free kick to Darlington is a complete mystery.

Phillips New Manager at South Shields

Graham Fenton has been replaced by former Sunderland star Kevin Phillips as manager of South Shields. On the face of it looks like an interesting appointment and one that reinforces the ambition of the club.

Re: Kidderminster Game

Storey also involved in the most bizarre incident of the game when he clearly hauled back one of their attackers who still managed to find the back of the net with his shot. Mystifying the referee disallowed the goal and indicated a free kick to Darlington, before changing his mind and instead award...

After managing Darlington he left to manage Norwich City from 1966/69. What he did after that I have no idea. I am guessing he left football management after that but if anyone knows what happened to him it would be interesting to know.

Re: Kidderminster Game

Overall it was a tight game with few clear cut chances. Very even in the first half and thought they were just a little stronger in the second half. Perhaps the benefit of being full time was the difference at the end of the day. We are at least competitive now with the stronger teams in this league...

Rugby at the Arena is off because of a frozen page but I know the pitch doesn't get great deal of sun. No mention if pitch inspection on our site.
Yes makes it difficult for the ref to book anyone if he can’t open his notebook 😂

Hope the game is not under any threat due to the weather. Been pretty cold overnight and ground still frozen this morning. The lack of sun due to fog and low cloud is not helping the warming process. Wonder if Kiddy travelled yesterday or are coming up today.

Re: Kidderminster Game

No Lawlor or Cooper extension, and no announcement on Rose yet. Means the team pretty much picks its self for tomorrow. Still plenty good enough to give anyone in the league a game. Not sure where Kidderminster will be at fitness wise, but they played midweek after their cup heroics, add to that th...

Re: Player update - Rose, Charman et al

Yes it means that with a release clause in his contract any transfer fee may not be that high. That being the case it is all about the add ons we can negotiate with potential buyers. The fact that he turned down a League 2 side suggests to me that he and his agent know other clubs are interested and...

Re: David Wheater

Id like to see Wheater at least trialed in a Darlo shift even if on a short term pay as you play deal, I think he is a bit different to Hunt who had spent most of his career as a wing back/right back, Wheater would head a fridge and providing he can get his fitness up would be a very good asset in ...

If I was his agent I would tell him to stay put and not consider moving until a Premier League club were willing to pay at least 10 million quid for his services. Oh sorry must have dozed off and been in dreamland again 😴😴😴

Re: Luke Charmans value

I agree that we have to be realistic in our valuation of Charman but at the same time he is an exciting prospect with a good deal of potential. He has just turned 24 and is a genuine goal scorer with 2 good feet, pace and decent in the air. He can score goals from inside the six yard box but can als...

Not necessarily we still have Rivers, de Santos and Lambert who can operate as wide strikers. To be honest Mondal has been a huge disappointment and this move could signal his ...

Re: Luke Charmans value

Interesting to see Carver sign for Hartlepool for a “reported” £20k fee. He is more experienced than Luke for sure but is a few years older so will be interesting to see where our valuation sits. Personally, I believe £50k is realistically probably the most we could expect even though I think he is...

You won’t get a new ground close to the town centre there simply isn’t a suitable plot of land big enough. Several acres would be needed for a new stadium plus car parking.
