Darlo Legends Fundraiser

Just a heads up to anyone not aware of this. Gary Brown is bringing a team of ex Darlo players to play a team from Uncovered at Darlington RA ground in Brinkburn RD on Saturday June 26th ko 11am. Admission is by cash on the gate and all proceeds to go towards the Boost The Budget fund. A good opport...

Are any other teams appealing fines? If so could a decision be delayed until all appeals have been completed.

Re: Local'ish clubs released lists

Any central midfielder (like Spencer) signing for us faces a real battle in trying to dislodge the Wheatley-Hatfield pairing. They may have to wait for injury or suspension. Any new centre-mid signed will pick up plenty of minutes across the season. They would not need to wait for injuries & suspen...

Re: Local'ish clubs released lists

Jamie Spencer would be a good signing, as would Ben McKenna. Both, I should imagine, may return to their more regional routes but I wouldn't be surprised if we have offered contracts to both. A few surprising names on that list Spencer, McKenna and Forbes the foremost of them. I'd expect Spencer mi...

18 year old keeper joining after his release from York City. Must be local as he was part of our academy previously. Will be understudy to Tommy Taylor.

We will have to take our medicine but at least we have a bit of cash in hand from BTB so not a problem. Kind of is a problem. Re: The vote of no confidence in the National league.

We may have strong reasons for not playing the Boston game but I think all that will matter is that we defied the NL. The fact we subsequently played a FA Trophy match further weakens our position. We will have to take our medicine but at least we have a bit of cash in hand from BTB so not a problem.

Re: Boost the budget 2021

Nothing much surprises me anymore about our brilliant fans. But just think about it for a moment 600 to 700 people love our club that much they are willing to part with an average of about £200 each to help bring in new players. Not just as a one-off but season upon season.

Just rewatched the 2015 playoff semifinal against Spennymoor. Proper game of football with both teams getting stuck in 5 goals and loads of drama and of course the right result. If we could get him seems like a no brainer tbh. A choice between him and Charman for the ST role, ideally supported by Sousa / Mondal / Rivers and Holmes would be a strong and exciting forward line. Sousa has not yet signed and probably won't, Mondal we know nothing about, Holmes hasn't played in ...

Big drop from Championship to NLN and from full time to part time.
Agreed but he has not been close to the 1st team at Boro. Surprising that a League 2 or NL team did not take him on loan last season. Luke Charman dropped from Premiership to NLN to join us last season 🤞

Re: Ty o,neil

I would be delighted if we could sign him up but we would have to play him as a striker as he looked less effective when we tried to play him deeper. He may get offers to stay full time but on the plus side he is a local lad and knows the setup well at Darlington.

So with four days left it looks like we’ll surpass 100k but I suspect possibly fall just short of 120k. Still a Herculean effort nonetheless.
