Re: Marske away in the Cup (if we beat Chester)

I really hope we get through and play Marske. Had a really enjoyable day out there when we were in the Northern League. They were one of the clubs that really welcomed our fans and seem to be a very well run club. I am sure they would love us to get through and give them a bumper attendance. They pr...

Re: Darlington V Chester

A fairly poor game today and honestly don’t think either side did enough to feel they should have won. On a positive note our defence is looking stronger and a welcome clean sheet today.

Re: Jack Lambert and Omar Sanyang

Good to see AA is still adding to the squad which will hopefully give us more strength in depth. Certainly don’t think we are missing Campbell and I am at a loss as to why some think he hasn’t been adequately replaced. For me Charman Cassidy and Nelson are the best strikers we have had at the club ...

In the match report on the official website Jack Lambert is referred to as a “new signing”
Hope we sign Lambert, I always thought he was pretty good, I think he'll slot in well to the 4-3-3 formation we have.
He could certainly play in the attacking midfield role if Hatfield was not playing.

Good workout as you say. Now for the draw for the next round!
Believe it has already been made and we are away to Newton Aycliffe.

And I would like to bet we would have 80/100 fans at the game.

Re: Brackley away 14/9/21

Great result. Looks like we have found a system that suits and the players to carry it out. Great effort all round and special mention for Alex Storey who has had plenty of criticism but sounds like he did well tonight. Also Luke Charman now scored in last 3 games and he seems to be forming a good p...

Re: Brackley away 14/9/21

Just the game you want on a Tuesday night when you are bottom of the league and they are going well. I suppose we don’t have much expectation riding on this one so even a scrappy 0-0 would be seen as a great result. Realistically keeping a clean sheet looks unlikely so perhaps I will go for 2-2 in ...

A reasonable assumption that we will be paying more than most teams in leagues below our level. I don’t see other NLN teams being interested in either of them on the basis of their performances for us.

Re: Blyth v Darlo

I know some will accuse me of making judgements without giving players time to prove themselves but I have to say I really don’t think Brandon Taylor looks like a central defender. Occasionally you can get a central defender who is not really tall but reads the game very well and can be effective. C...

Re: Blyth v Darlo

I don’t mind him being honest and fairly blunt in his assessment of the team in post match interviews. He simply says what we as fans have witnessed and already worked out for ourselves in most cases. The problem for him is if he keeps making similar comments after every game it begs the question Wh...

Nothing yet on official website about David Mills so not much point in speculation about unrest in the boardroom. He may well have personal reasons for leaving so until more is revealed let’s not start inventing a story without the facts being known.

Re: Blyth v Darlo

An entertaining game and we fully deserved to take our first point of the season. Lets not kid ourselves we are still fragile in defence but at least Storey and Cooper did ok second half. We also showed plenty of spirit to come back from 2 down so all is not lost. Great to see Nelson back on target ...

We’re in for Jake Cooper at Rotherham, according to the Echo. Sounds like its all but confirmed that we have a new player for Sat, maybe two (but I would be shocked if it was two). Alun knows he is under pressure and the vultures will be circling if we get beat (cue Darlogrumps) Disagree that the v...

A typically poor piece of journalism from a once respected newspaper that really has hit the skids in recent years. Reading this weeks Non League paper Sousa got 8 out of 10 for Grimsby and made Star Man by their reporter in their 4-3 win over Barnet on Saturday. A good crowd in attendance of just over 5,000 as well.

A name mentioned above may be an option but I'd much rather AA comes through this blip and proves he can turn this start around. I was joking there Re Gray, TBH I think AA will turn it around and we will end up mid lower table, and IMO with the budget we have and the tough competition with full tim...

Re: Darlo v Bradford PA

Worrying pattern emerging in our games so far this season. Poor first half, although we did score first at Curzon, then losing at half time before a token rally in the later stages of the game. As others have said it is relatively easy to look ok when the opposition is in front and more content to ho...

Re: Darlo v Bradford PA

If I was the Bradford boss and had seen our first couple of games I would stick big Adam Nowakowski up front as often as possible. The £1 a week man isn't afraid to go in where it hurts but hopefully AA has come up with a cunning plan for us to deal with threats in and around the box this time. A c...

Re: New signings?

Listening to the latest interview with AA it doesn’t seem that any new faces will be included for this Saturday. He sounds a bit frustrated that so far he has been unable to find a suitable centre half who is willing to come as it has to be an experienced player who can organise the defence. Wonder ...
