Re: Spennymoor Away (KO 1pm)

This is a decision taken on Police advice, largely because there is a small section of supporters (as in society as a whole) who can’t be sensible with alcohol and/or have a propensity to behave like monstrous bell ends. Unfortunately the behaviour of these dolts impacts on the rest of us. We can b...

Re: Spennymoor Away (KO 1pm)

Just seems that Spennymoor just want to make it as difficult as possible for our supporters to enjoy a day out. They always blame us for any problems, and do not seem to accept any responsibility for their amateurish organisation. I am seriously thinking of staying away. I know that is not going hel...

Darlo’s European Hopes Dashed

Sadly, Darlington’s hopes of appearing on the European Stage have been dashed. No I am not referring to the football club’s omission from the Champions League, but the town’s attempt to host the Eurovision Song Contest in 2023. Unfortunately, we are not one of the preferred 7 bids that will be put f...

Hope new ground isn’t there it’s way out of town having said that so is the Skerningham development.

Re: Spennymoor Away (KO 1pm)

Pity the club can’t live stream the game on to a large screen at Blackwell Meadows. Would happily pay to do that than put the money into Spennymoor’s bank account. I would imagine the cost would be prohibitive and the League would not allow it. I do remember going to Feethams in 2000 to watch the aw...

Bedale Town have had some shockers in recent years. They are sponsored by Heck the sausage makers and images of their products have featured on their shirts.

Very encouraging performance, some great performances and a very encouraging first game of the season. Excellent crowd of 1591, were richly entertained. Crowd figure was 1444 according to the official website. As a matter of interest did anyone on here sample the catering on offer today, and if so ...

Got the wrong, Rivers not in the squad, or Sukar and Rose
With Winstanley,Hughes, Emery and Felix on the bench, it’s no wonder we made those signings yesterday.

Re: Kaine Felix

Wonder how the Felix transfer came about. Very unusual for a player to sign for a new club in the close season and then move on without playing a game. Possibly a change in his circumstances that meant he wanted to be back up north or some sort of disagreement between him and his new employers. Eith...

Joins from Peterborough Sports. Only joined them this summer - lure of the Darlo too much. This is turning into a very good day with 3 new players coming in. We now seemed very well stocked for wide attackers. Wonder if someone will be moving on. Perhaps Scunthorpe have rekindled their interest in ...

[quote=theoriginalfatcat post_id=486808 time=1659641512 user_id=376] Extra funding could well prove tricky. There is a massive issue with energy prices/interest rates and food costs coming down the track. It's bad now but this winter is shaping up to be proper late 70s/...

Pleased with getting Emery and Hughes signed up. Gives us a little more strength in depth. The difference this season is that these inexperienced players hopefully won’t be thrust into the firing line before they are ready.

Re: Alfie Hughes

Hopefully a young lad who will develop into a useful player, and presumably fills a place in the squad vacated by KDS. Could be a good move for him as he is likely to get some game time with our squad being so small.
Surely another defender to come in on loan in the near future as well?

Re: Whitby 30th July 2022

Well that is preseason done. Not surprisingly a bit of a mixed bag overall, some encouraging things and other aspects need more work. It looks like we are in a better position than this time last year and can’t wait for the season to begin. I honestly think that a top 10 position is possible, but we...

Whitby 30th July 2022

Looking forward to a day out at the seaside with a couple of friends. Hopefully an enjoyable game, fish and chips and a few beers( not driving). Expecting to see a strong team starting, given this is the last preseason game, and hopefully a few of the wrinkles at Guiesley will have been ironed out. ...

Re: Guiseley V Darlo

I was not at the game last night so I am unable to comment on the performance, but it has lowered my expectations for the coming season. Perhaps a bit of a reality check is not a bad thing. On the positive side I think we have recruited some good players, but I am concerned about the lack of depth t...

Lets not forget that is not just our fans who have to put up with the poor standards in the catering, but away fans who may have traveled a long way and be looking forward to a gastronomic treat. It doesn’t reflect well on our club, regardless of who actually does the catering.
