VAR
Another facial VAR example in today's FA Cup semi final. Having come back from 3-0 down to Manchester Utd, Coventry denied a last minute extra time winner due to a toenail off side decision by the assistant VAR referee. Completely ruined an enthralling game. Football is so much better in the lower l...

Re: So who do you want to be relegated Blyth or Farsley>
So as it happened we already had enough points before last Saturday's game against Farsley. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. There's something satisfying about looking at the league table when everyone's played up, it's all panned out and the Quakers are safe.

Hopefully a one off for them then. Meanwhile we still have our ground split in two by a water pipe.

Re: Chester Away All ticket
Am I right in thinking that a diagonal lump of Chester's ground is in Wales? I seen to remember reading something in the Daily mail a couple of years ago that the English/Welsh boundary ran through a corner of their ground and it had caused them some problems.

Re: Well how did we do that?
Why do threads always descend into personal point-scoring? I don't really care if someone thought Gowling should have been given more time, or if Martin Gray was the only man to get us out of the mess, or if the signing of an injured Asante was an egregious assault on our very existence as a fan ow...

Well how did we do that?
Yesterday was a truly tremendous day. From start to finish Darlington was the best side, creating chance after chance and closing down opposition players as soon as they had the ball. Last Christmas I was miserable. After seeing another inept side to side and backwards display under the previous man...

H T winning 2-0 After a strong start two goals up after ten minutes, we allowed Southport back in to the gamej, strong winds will be against us in the second half.

Re: Darlington V Chorley
I overheard one of our players rightly asking the linesman what the hell he was up to. He must have known he was in the wrong because (unlike earlier in the game) he didn't go telling tales to the ref. To compound an inept performance he became clever with our player taking a corner, making him dela...

Re: Rushall v Darlington
I've been looking forward to this fixture all week and couldn't wait for it to come round. Saturday at last!
Come on lads, keep them out at our end and stick some in at the other! Up the Quakers!

Re: Darlington V Peterborough Sports
Me personally I would go full strength at Rushall and hopefully get the win which realistically barring a complete capitulation would see us pretty much safe. Then I'd be giving a day off to the likes of Barrow, Main, Cornish in the Chorley game. That is the one remaining game where the players sti...

Re: Darlington V Peterborough Sports
Yes it does feel like a promotion run in doesn't it?
Who knew that a relegation dog fight could be so exciting
.
One of the highlights for me yesterday was seeing Matty leap and punch the air when we scored, and seeing the reaction of the players at the whistle. They're a team now.

Re: Darlington V Peterborough Sports
This game has all the hallmarks of a massive banana skin to me. There is a sense of real expectancy among the fans, moderate opposition who have a couple of our ex players in their squad, and probably a decent crowd. If we can win our next 2 games we will be very close to pulling off the great esca...

Re: Darlington v Banbury 2/03/24
I can understand that Pete because yesterday's match was a thrilling spectacle and at times I thought we looked like a promotion side. As well as that they'd have been close up to the action and much nearer to the players than at the Boro. We take that for granted but at some of the bigger grounds t...

Re: Darlington v Banbury 2/03/24
You know what, when I was looking at Matty warming up, windmilling his arms and flinging them from side to side I thought I was watching Tony Moor! That used to be what he used to do before every game.(Note to younger readers, he was our keeper in the 1960s and quite a good one).

Re: Darlington v Hereford
I really enjoyed watching this game, the first I've seen since Watson took over. Heading back up Wensleydale tonight it struck me what a difference has occurred since Gowling left. There was little or no side to side and backwards stuff, instead they seemed to enjoy going forward. Hatfield blocked a...

Re: Who next?
I’d honestly like to see Martin Gray back until end of season and then review he has the passion and with almost unfinished business after seat gate - he’s hopefully learned a lot and and a less a expensive choice as he has his own business, I’m not sure we have the luxury of Director of Football n...
