Re: Gateshead v Darlington
Difference between part-time and full-time today. Gateshead were always going to be a strong and fit squad, we just can't compete consistently with a side like this. We gave it a go but as others have said it seems like once Wheater went off we were struggling defensively. I'm going to say it once ...

Re: Leamington Saturday
No, give me falling over when accidentally breathed on, rolling around at every tackle, every foul resulting in wild appeals for a booking/sending off, bear hugs at every corner, any day. You do realise players in the 70s did all these things? Cheating to gain an advantage has been part of football...

Probably the wrong comment from me so hold my hands up, just frustrated with this season and a bad work day yesterday. Fair play to you. We all say/do things in frustration. At least you're not like a certain poster on Facebook who didn't like the team AA picked and still thought it was wrong (ie. ...

Footifan returns
Footifan sadly passed away today. Whether you agreed with his opinions or not there's no doubt he loved Darlo. His Texan friends contributed some funds to the cause. Knowing him, whether they wanted to or not. RIP.

I understand that it's a wedding that was booked prior to the fixtures coming out but I agree the timing is piss poor. Not least by the bride and groom. I mean who gets married on the first day of the season? Must be an egg chaser.

Re: Some questions about following Darlo in none league
I think the Spurs fan's behaviour says a lot about him as a person.
There's banter but taking pleasure in the demise of a local football club would tell me that he seems like a complete merchant banker.
See what he's like when City sign Harry Kane. Won't be laughing then.

Does anyone recall a game against Huddersfield in the early 70s (about 73/74) where at the wall at the Polam Lane collapsed? I think the game ended 2-2. The thing is I can't remember if a) I was there and witnessed it, b) saw on Shoot the day later or c) dreamt the whole thing. I think it was a) as ...

Paul Heckingbottom
Caretaker manager of Sheffield United.
Is he the first ex darlo player to manage in the Premier League?
There could be somebody obvious but as I'm on to the second bottle of wine and can't be arsed to check, I don't know.
I also think he's got the most Lancashire/Yorkshire surname in the world.

Re: That penalty
First chance I've had to see Wheatley's booking. Given it was a Darlo player and the comments I've read so far, I was expecting it to be a borderline booking. Not even a borderline foul. If our resident referees' friend wants defend the decision, or at least justify it, that's his call but he's star...

So Spennymoor come out with a good statement about not wanting to play and now they're untouchable?

Re: Away kit vote
The new kit home and away is an outrage. The sash is completely the wrong way round. It should be left to right. Or is it right to left? Anyway I shall view it as a hooped shirt and if you tilt your head to the left, or is it right, it's 2 big white hoops and 1 small black hoop. Job done. You're wel...

1 & 2 are awful.
4 is a bit, well I don't know. It might grow on me.
I actually like 3.
Tin hat on but I've never liked hoops. Particularly hooped socks.
Bit too rugby for my liking.
I think Gramps is right though. It does look a bit loaded.

Re: Spennymoor away
I'm intrigued by the trained pitch snow removers thing. Is there a qualification you can get? NVQ maybe? Should we as a club look to invest in employing some? Perhaps an apprentice scheme starting with sweeping slush off paths before being given a small snow shovel to clear the stuff that's strayed ...

Re: Spennymoor away
Spennymoor is covered in snow and no chance of melting with current climate If you had a decent sized fan base you could ask for volunteers to clear any snow off the pitch. Yer 200 less than Darlington, not a good idea to ask fans with shovels to possibly take chunks out of one of the best playing ...
