Re: Once the dust settles...
I am not sure that even close to a majority of clubs are 'properly going for a play off place'...wouldn't suggest it is the norm by any stretch. I disagree. I reckon 50% of clubs properly go for a playoff place. We are basically at the end of the season and ten clubs are in with a shout of a play o...

Agree Loan Star. Haven't seen anything to suggest the guy is "swinging the lead" or doesn't want to get fit. Blaming his presence for almost taking us down is also complete rubbish.

What is the point of a reserve keeper who you will never use under any circumstances then? If you are paying them, play them.

Re: Any new faces
Scott Barrow was signed by Steve Watson. Josh gowling signs old crocks like Asante. That was my point. Gowling signed a crock in Asante. Watson signed a crock in Barrow. Very little difference in the last 12 months for the pair of them, but you can't say Asante was typical of the type of player Gow...

Re: Blood on hands/heads must roll
Sorry, are we saying we have a GK coach who doesn't actually attend training sessions and just turns up to games when Newcastle aren't playing (presume the suggestion here is he's a Newcastle fan and is watching them play, rather than working?). Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using Tapatalk That’s the cr...

Re: Brackley v Darlington
The number of amateurish mistakes that have been made is horrendous, but hey, we can always do a third BTB or rattle a few buckets if more "mistakes" are made. And therein lies the problem, mistakes are made and the fans have to bail it out. Very easy to gamble with other peoples money when there’s...

Reckless owners overspending chasing a pipedream. Who does that sound like? Glad people had sympathy for us back in the day.

No - waiting for someone to suggest we channel Cyril Knowles through a medium.

Mate, when The Tin Shed has suggestions that the 5 most "vocal" fans should get to sit on the interview panel and choose the next manager, nothings too bizarre.

If people have to hark back to that era, then I think Atkinson has proved himself more suitable with what he's done with Aycliffe with, I would assume, a limited budget.

Re: Who next?
So a guy who has been out of management for 5 years is the best we can hope for? or a guy out of management for 20 years? Really? Has Gray ever successfully fought relegation? Or just been a decent manager when having the biggest budget to work with? We are what, 7 points off safety. We apparently h...

Another way to look at it is those 3 wins have come in last 7 league games, with 2 draws. More points than in previous 14 league games. Some encouragement surely.

:) What else would you call it when your job takes you to the other end of the country? Quite a few of our squad are "working away from home" when they play at home. Now you are being pedantic. They are being asked to stay away overnight at their own expense in order to do their day job. Tha...

Just listened to Danny Rose's interview there, says both the management & the players themselves have contributed towards the travel costs to stay over there tonight. Like the sound of that and good on the players to contribute, show’s commitment to the cause for sure. Or its a case of help pay tow...

Don't think away followings are much of a money spinner. The bigger clubs all know that the facilities are crap, and there attendees reflect this. Yes, the facilities are rubbish at Blackwell Meadows. However, over our seasons at BM, we have benefitted from Scarborough, Shields, York & Gateshead al...

I'll ask the question for you if you really want to know!! I was told about the number of off field staff by someone who was surprised at just how many extra bodies are turning up now that were nowhere to be seen before Gowling arrived. Do we take it this is someone within the club actively stirrin...

The fact we have signed an undercooked striker, yes with some kind of ability, and seems like everyone is pinning hopes on him. Isn't it more of a worry that we don't have the personnel to create the chances consistently? Yes, possibly an upgrade on Hazel but no guarantees he will bail us out on hi...

Re: Darlington V Rushall
To be fair our transfer listing of players was a pretty poor effort. We didn't actually send a circular round other clubs who might be interested. Obviously just dependent on word of mouth. I got the news of Warrington and Scarborough transfer listing players yesterday. I got Chester's last Monday....

[/quote] Rowe, Lindley & Ngandu will not be on peanuts in the grand scheme of things - they all were Midlands based upon signing and we are now paying for accommodation for out-of-area players. Hazel also did not want to leave prior to Gowling's arrival, and you also mention a lack-of-creativity whe...

I know you don't like it 97 but Gowling is the manager. Managers pick their best team from the players they have available, depending on fitness, attitude, who the opposition is, all sorts of stuff. Players have to constantly work to try and keep form. Players get picked and dropped from time to ti...

Re: Darlington V Rushall
It was time for AA to leave & some of his signings were poor, but JG has tried to rip up the place. After nine new signings since September, we are starting only one of them. Looking at performances over the previous two games, can we honestly say that overhauling throughout October was needed? Yes...

I said it many times Jacob Hazel is a goal scorer he needs to have a target man beside him to allow him to run onto the ball , his work rate of the ball is good some fans can't see the wood from the trees.I would back Jacob to come good with the right setup  Have you been watching the game...
