Re: Once the dust settles...
We are hardly going to be able to pull a new stadium out of our backsides at short notice if we somehow managed promotion We wouldn't need to. If we were promoted any time soon we could update BM. The changes needed to stay in NL will obviously cost money but they aren't the cost of a new stadium. ...

Re: Looks like they're staying...
It depends what options players have. If they don't have full time options then what.
They are currently not able to get into the team for struggling NL - where do you go in full time football from there.

Re: Looks like they're staying...
I think it all depends who is available from elsewhere. I wouldn't keep anyone if there is better available. Wouldn't surprise me if Michael Duckworth (York) and Will Smith (Harrogate) are available this summer. Luke Charman's contract is up at Fylde and he hasn't played for the first team since Jan...

Released today about Southport's owners - quite grim reading in part.

Re: The Bottom Ten, Saturday Apr 06th 2024
Fair enough. Disagree though, they’re absolute cack and I’m not arrogant in saying that. No I agree they were probably the worst team to visit BM this season. I just don’t dare take anything for granted where Darlington FC are concerned. There's been a fair few teams just as bad if not worse this s...

Re: Looks like they're staying...
Yeh, Young won't be back. I'm sure a new GK will be a priority, and I'd hope that we have a good chance of securing Cornish and Barrow on contracts. If we can get those sorted early on, move out a few of the squad players/under-performers, then we should hopefully have a decent core of a side to fl...

Re: Chester Away All ticket
I did think they couldn't offer us £19 seating whilst home fans have the option of £16 standing. However I must be wrong because this seems what Chester do every game. Always assumed the had to offer something at the same lower price home fans were being offered. Even if only small numbers. No. You...

That Darlo side of Hodgie's that failed V Peterborough, they were so entertaining. Liddle, Heaney, Gabbiadini, Collett, Heckingbottom, Michael Oliver and others, what a side that was. But the thing is, although the team was assembled by Hodgie (hooray ) It was financed by Reynolds (Booo My favourit...

Re: The Bottom Ten, Saturday Apr 06th 2024
A wider split means more relegation or less promotion (per division).
Just stop calling it north call it region 1 and region 2 and it becomes a lot harder to say "they shouldn't be in that division"

I'm not sure I have an "emotional attachment" to the name!! It would be interesting to know the travelling distances for North v South teams as over the years we seem to be increasingly travelling southwards and there are huge financial implications especially with so many teams being part time. Re: The Bottom Ten, Saturday Apr 06th 2024
With every year I think it becomes clear the lower leagues need restructuring. I’ve said it before, expand the football league (4 leagues of 20), more sensible regionalisation below that (you might want a 3 way rather than two way split). The pyramid is precious and more and more clubs are running ...

Re: The Bottom Ten, Saturday Apr 06th 2024
The only way that winning on Saturday doesn't see us safe before the final day is if Farsley beat Peterborough Sports AND Blyth win away at Scunthorpe.
Kings Lynn v Peterborough Sports is almost certain to be a draw as I think it will see them both safe.

Re: Games that matter to us - end of season
I strongly suspect the players will want to go to Chester knowing they can have a team night out in Liverpool / Manchester to celebrate.
If they can settle it on Saturday they won't need to worry too much about the game itself...

Re: Massive credit to Watson and the board
It's very rare in a 46 game league at any level for a team to require 52, 53 or 54 points to secure 5th bottom spot, not unheard of but very unusual. Normally somewhere between 47 and 50 or so points would be enough for 5th bottom place. We might just happen to have picked a more freakish season to...

Re: Games that matter to us - end of season
I think we actually have enough as it is as agreed with others that Blyth won't pick up another point this season. I expected Rushall to beat them.
It's not comfortable until it's mathematically confirmed obviously.

The mistake is already made if he is contracted to next season. Who knows though. I mean at this stage he's not 'needed' for the rest of this season. I think we have the firepower that we need to get the points we need. There is a point where you get him back properly - try and get a proper pre-seas...

Even the Warrington commentator thought we deserved the win. The next two home games are massive, 2 wins and we are safe. I don't want to be going to Chester needing something as they have fallen out of the playoffs and might need a result to secure a play off spot. I suspect one might be enough - ...

⬆️ Merely pointing out that players get injured. You were right about Gowling 97, but FFS - stop banging on about it. No - because it is entirely relevant (and probably the biggest reason why) to the situation we are in. We can't pretend we weren't in the situation before Gowling came in. Our recor...

The photograph shows the ball in its entirety well over the line by several inches so it is not 'just' over the line, and you fail to consider that the photograph shows this at a point before the defender's boot has made contact with the ball, which suggests that the ball would travel even further ...
