Re: George Reynolds - Time to let it go

Great read, at least the stadium is being used for positive purposes at the moment with the vaccine roll out! What’s frustrating for me is that there is lots of dead space in and around the town centre and I’m sure private money could be found for a 8,000 capacity stadium with the councils support....

Re: Integrity in the National League!!

Could be verses in an Alanis Morisette song about integrity.

"When you give away your tickets to a sporting event for free when other charge a market rate..."

"When participants in a competitions aren't allowed to win a prize because others have opted not to play any more..."

David Atkinson now at Shildon, with their manager saying he can get him 'Enjoying his football again'. Make of that last statament what you will. Doesn't it just mean being fit and playing regularly again, something he hasn't managed to do in an extended period of time. It's not surprising he hasn'...

This is very off topic forum... Ultimately the public are not to blame. I wouldn't say I lean to the left I pitch up firmly on that side. Labour don't seem to have learnt anything from Brexit at all, you need to convince people as to why what you are offering is actually better for people, will make...

Re: 6 players leave

Given all the talk of players going out, I’ll start with a bit of baseless speculation for players we might be interested in: Robbie Briggs (South Shields), Macauley Langstaff (Gateshead), Josh MacDonald (Pools) & Paddy McLaughin (York). Interesting on Briggs. Shields are going full time this seaso...

Re: 6 players leave

Wonder why they went back to Blyth en masse. If we offered them reduced terms then surely it still wouldn't amount to what Blyth will be paying them. Unless the Blyth chairman has put his hand in his pocket. Two years of misery with a Northern League level squad, so he’s shelling out a bit more to ...

Not sure how well returning players will be received by the Blyth fans.
Weren't they pretty much told to leave by Blyth though? Wasn't that part of why AA left they basically removed their entire budget.

Maguire is a funny one in the sense that he showed us what he could do in the minutes he did play, it is just a shame that injuries prevented him from playing more (missed 8 weeks of the curtailed season through muscle injuries).
He did. Weren't injuries an issue for him at York as well?

Would happily have Minter back, he can't be happy being a 3rd choice keeper at a League to club. At his age he needs to be playing games.

We don't half struggle with goalkeepers don't we. Do always feel there is a complete lack of patience with GK these days. People seem to want to find issue with them. "Great shot stopper but..." Don’t think we’ve had a fully convincing permanent keeper since Adam Bartlett in the Martin Gray era. So...

The stats really showed how effective Campbell was for us. https://twitter.com/DarloFCSG/status/1382237294678179841?s=19 As I say we had a good mix. Campbell had the most assists per 90 mins. Charman had the most goals per 90 mins and Maguire was somewhere in the middle. Either way all 3 score and ...

Stod reporting that Campbell wanted to leave and Gateshead are favourites to sign him. All these players have lined up other clubs which tells us they made the decision. Surprised fans are interpreting these as being we didn't offer them a new deal. If anything it suggests we at least started a con...

South Shields are full time next season. I could understand Campbell going there. I feel like it was reported he wanted to return to full time football if possible, he is only 26 after all. I am not sure I picked up that the rest would necessarily want to commit to going full time. I can't see any o...

I assumed they would to be honest. Postponements at PL level are very rare. I was under the impression that there was quite a heavy fine if they have a postponement for waterlogging / frozen pitches, never mind failing to have the right level of security. I am not sure I believe the whole they won't...

Seem to remember he converted to a decent centre half who used to confuse the opposition with unorthodox clearances. They liked him at Boston.- when he went there. He always was a decent CB! It wasn't the league who didn't want to take part was it? Clubs were eligible for promotion they just chose not to take it so it was the clubs rather than the league. It was encouraged somewhat by Amos who seemed to praise this stance by the clubs and wanted the NL to be a ceiling. It was more his h...

Totally agree it is chicken feed, but what other way can fans have an effect on the way these people think? Give up your sky and BT sport subscriptions. Go any watch a local non-league side on a Saturday / mid-week. Boycott pubs that are paying for BT and sky subscriptions. Don't support the sponso...
