Re: Charman ban stands

Yes raises it 'up' not 'out'. The signal for an attacking free kick is a right arm straight out horizontally...his arm is above his head with a flat palm basically indicating "stop" Haha give it a rest. It's 50 degrees as opposed to 45 degrees so it's stop play???? You really not strengthening your...

Re: Charman ban stands

Serious nonsense. How do you know he blew for a free kick against Curtis I didn't see he right arm come out. There was no directional signal given at the point he stopped play. I'm sorry but I don't believe that for one second you can't see his right arm come out to give a free kick. He clearly rai...

Re: Arthur Wharton mural

In the Echo, Shaun Campbell claims that footballers who cost England matches in the past have "not seen a sliver of abuse". Really? The guy is a fantasist. Your quote wasn't from Shaun Campbell - read the article again. If you're going to shoot someone down, get your facts right. I think as Darlo f...

Re: 2 New Signings Today

Muggleton is an interesting one. Listening to what people are saying about him and looking at his YouTube highlights, he seems very different to Wright's usual choice of left back. Looks more like a Martin Gray player. Tall, solid and adding something extra to set pieces. Will be interesting to see ...

Nothing to be worried about - these aren't very good, go out there and play your game and we should be fine. Nothing to be scared about - yes these are a good team but go out there and dont be scared to play your game. Thats how I would read it. Fine. However, let's swap the verbs around in your tw...

Re: Cartman available for loan

I can think of at least 3 others in the squad who don't deserve to be there & my heart sinks when I see their names on the team sheet ahead of Cartman. Not a wise decision to let Carts go  Really? Please name them because I can't think of one... OTT reactions I feel. Nice lad, good playe...

Re: Skelmersdale v Darlo Match Thread

Not good enough, yet again. Cracks were showing early on in the season and they're even more apparent now, our only win in the last four games was against the league's whipping boys who even bloody Nantwich hammered tonight. Unfortunately I think Martin Gray has taken us as far as he can, didn't ha...

Great signing on paper. Pretty much the exact type of player I was hoping for, an upgraded Leon Scott if you will. Combative, strong and an aerial threat, which is an added bonus.

Loving these quotes from the BBC live feed: "Just to clarify, Fulham will be off the bottom of the table if they hang on to this win. Dan 'the wall' Burn heads away yet another cross. Maybe United need to change their tactics a bit?" "Great header out from Dan Burn (copy and paste that one) before M...

On our current form we would be heading for 88 points. Quite reassuring considering we still look like we are getting used to the league. Hopefully we can string a nice, long winning streak together to up our average.

That is a tremendous find. It's pretty much the core of the Ajax team who won the Champions League in '95 - Blind, De Boer, Davids, Overmars etc. - minus the wave of awesome youngsters that came through the following year - Kluivert, Seedorf, Reizeger, Kanu etc. I loved that Ajax team and had no id...

Re: Clyde Wijnhard

Yeah true, I suppose I was thinking European really. I guess there will have been some pretty big players kicking around the same time as those players in the Premier League/Old Division 1. Still, not a bad claim to fame for Wijnhard. Always liked him at Darlo, good, strong centre forward.

Was having a look at a few old Darlo videos today and whilst I was searching, this popped up... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PaCSZcvHDLc It's basically Clyde Wijnhard scoring in a game for Ajax (he was there throughout his youth) and the names of some of the other Ajax players in that team is noth...

There did seem to be a bit of an agenda held by one of the fellas. He categorically ignored Darlington until the presenter labelled us as the elephants in the room. Still, a much better welcome than the Northern League so far. Liked the way they mentioned that we had earned our place in the league. ...

Haha, enjoyed that cheers.

Love the way the host steers the guy away from saying the infamous "They're in for a shock."

Also the claim that Salford will either get relegated or possibly win the league...well that was a bit odd to say the least.

Ouch that hurt, on way back now. Spenny deserved to win on balance of play but bay missed one or two good chances. Pains me to say Peacock changed the game. Roll on Saturday then I suppose!

Put yourself in the position we are in now. A community club, run by volunteers but with £5m in the pot and we owned a 25k sweater stadium. Do you think we could make I work? It's an interesting question. With such variance in the running figures and rumours about this, that and the other it's an i...

Glad to hear it sounds like there was no knowledge from our end. Strange thing to say to the fans coming in though. Maybe he was trying to play it down, he did bite back quite defensively when I asked about the rise.

Still a good result and not a bad game!

Had a word with the guy on the gate today. Asked when the price was decided and he said that it was decided last week and £8 was a price recommended by Darlo's club secretary. I'm assuming they have contacted Darlo and asked for advice on price hikes. Would be interesting if the club could shed some...

I live about 20 mins walk away from the ground and there's no snow here! Ground is quite hard though, so it depends on that I suppose.

I reckon it could still be on, just forecast rain here.
