Re: NLN playoffs
The playoffs are brilliant. They absolutely make the season more interesting at the end and the games themselves are so good to be involved in. I was gutted we lost in 99/00 but I am still glad we had those semi-finals against Hartlepool were able to go to Wembley. Going to those games are the expe...

Re: NLN playoffs
Boston lost 15 games this season, yet they’re in the playoff final - it just shows what can be achieved.

Re: NLN playoffs
York fans caused some damage on Weds night. To celebrate they trashed some seats, threw flares about and generally kicked off a bit with the Chorley fans.
What would have happened if they'd lost?

And if they refuse to accept it then what are they going to do about it? Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using Tapatalk Look elsewhere. There are enough players lower down the leagues that could easily step up to this league and keep us in it. Or do you want to become a sort of Spendymoor paying a fortune...

Re: Season Tickets 2022/23
Good point. Just allow for the 2 extra home games at last seasons prices.
With the way things are, any % increase could be counter productive. Also with season tickets - if you've bought one you are more likely to spend cash on the day, on drink/food/etc.

Re: Hybrid next season
Fundamentally we are a football club first, we have to excite, entertain, compete and engage. People are fickle, people have other demands on their time and money and some fans won't understand how the club is set up, or even care. "Within our financial means" like any business we must deliver our ...

Re: Hybrid next season
I see what Pete means. It's not "entitlement" it's just reality. And Lo, not all fans are owners, they may know about the ownership structure and agree to it's principles, they lob a bit extra into the 50/50 draw and suchlike but that doesn't make them owners and it doesn't make their ongoing suppo...

Re: Hybrid next season
I'm, not sure that the majority of our fans will accept just drifting along in the Conference North. Take it that is based simply on entitlement? The fans are the owners at the end of the day - so it is up to that majority to fund what they deem acceptable. In reality less than 200 fans actually bo...

Re: Hybrid next season
DJ talks about this in his boost the budget interview. It doesn't sound hybrid to me - they're adding in a third training session, but it will only be used when needed and the players' contracts have been drawn so they only get paid for the extra training when it's used. If we get into 7th place ne...

Re: Hybrid next season
An extra training session must help. How many times over the last few seasons have we seen the full time sides outperform us with better tactics and better preset routines, and also look fitter than us in the closing stages of matches?

Re: Retained list
Cassidy a very strange one. Notwithstanding all the debate about his goal scoring record, the fact he played 39 games last season suggests he was one of the first names on the team sheet. Strange. Charman leaving seemed to be the turning point for Cassidy, up until then I thought he was a great ass...

Re: NLN playoffs
Fylde and Brackley are the strongest teams involved and the way the playoffs are set up they both hold a strong advantage over the others, if I had to stick my neck out I'd go with Fylde.

Re: Kidderminster V Darlington
Don’t think we need to make any improvements in terms of defence. I’d keep everyone we current have including Storey good 4th choice and young. One issue I do have with defence because it’s old we play too deep and with our current midfield crop we pretty much have a midfield full of CDMS. What we ...

Re: Goal of the season.
Kev’s second or the Gateshead wonder free kick for me. But I reckon there is one choice missing, Charman’s last goal at Blackwell Meadows, a nifty turn and perfect placement of a shot to the top far corner - up at the grassy bank end, can’t remember the opponents right now :eh: (Up and running on t...

To me Houchen was a much worse chairman and Scott & Sizer were equally just as bad all about the money not the club. As I remember Scott and Sizer were just money lenders - all they wanted was their money back and I can't see anything wrong with that. They ended up owning the Arena by default then ...

If you can afford it, why not? Why mess about?
There was a season we got knocked out in the playoffs (Ramsbottom) and this held us up by a year but wouldn’t have happened if we’d been sitting comfortably at the top of the league.

Re: YOURCLUB Men's Player of the Season 2021/22
Has to be Tommy Taylor for me. Without him in goal, we'd be a lot further down the table. He's good Pete but I personally don't rate him as highly as some on this forum. I reckon there's room for improvement in a number of areas of his game, and I'm looking forward to watching him stay with us and ...

... there is now talk of £750,000,000 being distributed for use within 'grassroots' football - would/could some of this cash be sent in our direction?

Re: Farsley match thread
Of course Farsley wanted it more - it meant more to them. Look at the league table they were the only side with anything actually riding on the game. I'd be shocked if they hadn't come across as wanting it more to be honest. It was 'lets do this to maybe finish 11th' v 'if we win we guarantee avoid...

Re: Farsley match thread
It's all been a bit lacklustre lately, and as others have pointed out on this thread, when it mattered, at the end of the season our form not only dipped but fell away. I had a little peak on the league form guide and for the last six matches we are bottom, there was nobody who got less points than ...

Re: Farsley match thread
I know what you're getting at Quakerlad. The match today was a bit of a non event for the Darlo players, or they gave that impression. Lambert played well but who else did? Yes we played a bit of nice stuff, looked more at ease on the ball and put through some classy passes but that was about it. To...
