Re: Club fine

Surely there must be some change in the rules, if indeed "rules" is the right word. There needs to be something added that says ' if by any unexpected event the government bans fans from attending fixtures for a period of time longer than X days with no financial compensation for loss in revenue, th...

Re: Club fine

16. The Appeal Board only reviews the Decision of the independent Panel, it does not carry out a rehearing. It follows that it does not matter that the Appeal Board might have arrived at a different conclusion on breach or on penalty. As a good friend of mine used to say "what's the point" Screwed ...

Re: Club fine

Yes, they really are crap and what concerns me a little is what if C19 comes back this winter? Are there new rules in place to cover a league shut down without fines being incurred.

What's been changed? Will there be "ineptitude-the sequel"

Unfortunately just like Harrogate they will have to rip up there artificial pitch. In this day and age these pitches provide an excellent playing surface and it is crazy that they are not allowed in the EFL. Typical of the short sightedness of the people running the game. Re: Club fine

There a number of appeals re these fines, I did know the figure but I've forgotten - it was more than 10 I think, so seeing as some of the reasons for stopping will be similar (no testing/running insolvently against league rules) it will be interesting to see if there is a split. If some fines are a...

We must be one of the best run clubs from our step upwards and this is important. I like the way I won't wake up one morning and hear on the news "Darlington Football Club have gone into administration" - I've heard this too many times before. And if we have to rattle around this league for a few ye...

Re: The vote of no confidence in the National league.

I wonder where the fine money goes. With all the clubs involved it's a nice little earner, brought about by the League's incompetence, because let's face it - if the second tranche of funding had been loans then all clubs would have played on. Well strictly speaking it would be the clubs who would ...

Re: The vote of no confidence in the National league.

Appeals are generally a waste of time. Fact is we didnt play the game as they thought we should. They rarely care about reasons why. Even if you think you have a clear cut justification they get you on a technicality by wording any charge in a way that theres no way out of it. Thinking back to an o...

Is it the league who hear the appeal? Thought it was usually an independent body.

I see that our appeal against the £2000 fine is set for next Thursday, let’s see if the National League see fit to offer up a bit of common sense to us and the other clubs involved.

Or will they take the chance to cash in and make some money.

Re: The vote of no confidence in the National league.

Good post en passant. I go along with what you've put. The reality is the NLN and NLS clubs need to identify the candidates they want to appoint to board positions and then vote them in. There are enough vacancies going. Lo, I'm wondering if this is even possible? We've seen on numerous occasions th...

It was an interesting little chapter in the story of Darlo. I can't find a position at B.M that gives me a view as good as the one I had at H. Park.

Mind you the seats we had at Feethams, two thirds the way up in the new stand somewhere about midway, were unbeatable for enjoying football.

Interestingly clear support for Mark Ives in that and clear reference to the issues being with the arts...and also the view that the NL clubs won't vote to diminish their power. I'm not familiar with the U.S voting system but I'm sure there will be reasons why votes work like they do, however I'm sure voting in a huge country with multiple States is much more complex than The National League.

I can see why step 1 clubs get more clout - but 5 times more!!

Re: The vote of no confidence in the National league.

I see the National League board are calling the result "convincing" It beggars belief how undemocratic the league structure is. More clubs voted yes than no - ie more clubs have no confidence as opposed to think things are okay YET the league board spin out that they’ve convincingly won. It’s like ...
