Re: 6 players leave

I don't think Watson will be chasing too regular football as he can only play so much without risking injury. I thought that was why he was happy with us.

Re: 6 players leave

Potentially, I would say so. You'd be surprised to see saltmer stick about, same perhaps for hunt, although I'd have nothing against either staying. Very disappointed to see Campbell go in particular. We've also lost some players who cover a number of positions there - Reid and Atkinson have both pl...

Re: Poolies Feeling The Pinch

I do wonder whether Singh is quite conscious of the reputation he has after his time with darlo and wants to shake it off. The downside is that when things went south with us it happened fast

Yes, I rather think the thing pools are most likely feeling at the moment is impending glory. As if this pandemic couldn't get any shittier.

Re: Player of the season

I don't get people being so negative about sousa. Surely you'd never expect a player of his type to be doing the same thing for 90 minutes. Fact is he ended the season as top scorer having signed late, scored great goals, scared the keks off opponents and lit up our squad. Players in his position ar...

Will they be able to train once their contracts end at the end of April, or whenever it is? If our contracts only run through the season surely they'll be okay to train after that period?

Or the ludicrous failure to play advantage when rivers broke.

Absolutely our own fault we lost the game, and Hatfield was daft for both yellows really, but the ref was bad.

Re: Darlington V Hornchurch Trophy Quarter Final

I mean, I'm not really one to moan about gamesmanship as I love it when we do it (very rarely, incidentally), but they were delaying and claiming everything and wasting time and the ref was gobbling it up like he couldn't get enough. Why blow dead on 95 when he's stopped the game for a minute for a ...

Re: Board Statement 15 Feb

I feel like people disputing our ongoing involvement in the trophy have no interest in the rationale behind it, and just want to gripe about us because either a) they're fans of teams who don't like us, or b) they want to carry on the season as they think they might get promoted. If somebody could g...

I was always a little envious of fc United's ground when we went there (well, the bits that were finished). A lot of character for a new stadium. I liked the wooden cladding on it too.

Re: Home to Hormchurch

I think talk of avenging the 2003 FA cup defeat is a bit OTT. The old Hornchurch went pop in 2005 and the Cup defeat was 18 years ago. Not really revenge-worthy in my view. Plus in 2003 we were wretched and deserved to lose. Hodgy had only just returned and had Mick Tait’s team to try and sort out....

Re: Home to Hormchurch

It used to be like that in the Johnstone's paint trophy (or equivalent thereof) didn't it? That's a national competition, and they managed it for higher ranked teams during non pandemic times, so yeah, yeah I do. You expect teams to schlep 500 miles across the country during a pandemic in which the ...

Re: Home to Hormchurch

I see the lack of regionalisation of this competition in the middle of a pandemic is throwing up more common sense ties.

Looks a good draw for us but Wealdstone and Weymouth might have said the same about us. Be nice to avenge the 2003 embarrassment mind.

Re: Season at risk of finishing early

My concern is that clubs who are either generously backed or who have rolled the dice on this season will be wanting to play on, which could leave others being forced into extremely difficult decisions. It's appalling really that the national league has put us in this position.

Re: Season at risk of finishing early

Yeah, the season has to end. I'll be gutted as frankly, we all need a few things to look forward to at the moment and watching the odd match was mine. But we can't be trying to service a debt like that for however long for a season with no consequences, in grounds without fans, while putting players...

Ten quid and no replays😟😟 More of the same second half and this lot are there for the taking. Makes you realise how good quaker TV is when you see a stream from the division above like this. In fact Swindon had a similar standard to them too - we really are spoilt. Sousa scaring the keks off them t...

AA continues with what is a 2 man midfield and in reality a 4 man forward line, and to be honest we have struggled in games with 2 there. Realise he is attack minded but currently it does not seem to work. I bet campbell is getting a bit peeved as he seems to be the first one subbed each time. At t...

Individually all our players (well, from midfield forward) are very good. But there's little variation between them. We would really benefit from a big ugly b****** in there somewhere.
