Re: Darlington V Chorley
Rivers is fine to bring on for 20 minutes if you have a lead and you just need someone to keep the ball but his influence when starting games is minimal. You cant have been there on saturday then, Rivers was one of the few that had a good game and also played Main through for the first goal. :crazy...

Re: Darlington V Chorley
Now isn’t the time for radical changes to formation, we’ve found a system that is clearly capable of getting the 2-3 more wins required to keep our heads above water. For me, Salkeld starts ahead of Rivers. Rivers is fine to bring on for 20 minutes if you have a lead and you just need someone to kee...

Re: Rushall tickets
The ground under normal circumstances only holds 1,400 but the capacity will probably be a few hundred lower than that on Saturday aws they have demolished the stand behind one of the goals ready to put up a new seated stand to help meet ground grading requirements. The work is going on and that en...

Re: Darlington V Peterborough Sports
I certainly don’t think we’ll be looking to rotate/ rest players in the next few matches. We’re playing the same players every week, they’re in form, they are understand their roles and are continuing get results. No more Tuesday night games to go so we should be through the worst of it in terms of ...

Re: The Bottom Ten, Tuesday Mar 12th 2024
I think the clubs with the greater resources tend to prevail towards the end of the season when the fixtures pile up and therefore Kings Lynn, Southport and Darlington continue to pull away and Banbury & Rushall will drop.

Re: Blyth V Darlington
Delighted with the result and some aspects of the performance, we probably need something like 9/10 points from the last 7 games to make sure of survival. Fully believe we’ll do it and may actually get a lot more than that but it’s no time to get carried away. First half performance wasn’t great, pa...

Re: Matty Cornish
Been really impressed with this lad, chance creation has been a huge problem for us for a long time now but he’s playing a massive part in changing that. Wouldn’t expect a lad come from the relegation zone in the NPL to have a such a instant impact. We’ve very rarely brought players in from lower le...

Barrow is doubtful for tomorrow with an elbow injury. That at least doesn’t sound too serious.

Re: Curzon V Darlington
How many up until Hatfield's goal? 0 or 1 perhaps. There are 6 on the highlights. On target before Hatfield's goal? I don't think so. The point I am making is that the opposition keeper could barely stand up, but Darlo weren't testing him with strikes on target or corners underneath the crossbar an...

Re: Curzon V Darlington
Really positive performance last night, we’ve gone from a nine point gap to three in space of just 11 days. A pretty miraculous turnaround, must admit I thought we might be done for after the Alfreton game so very pleased to have been proved wrong. We’re just better in both boxes, that’s the differe...

Re: Darlington v Buxton
Players are going out on loan but the ones we have tried to get have chosen other clubs in better positions. Even players who want to get themselves in the shop window are choosing other options. If only we hadn’t penny pinched last season! Yeh funny that--guess it's what happens when the manager a...

Re: Darlington v Buxton
Huge relief. Despite the dominance of possession it did feel like we were going to let a poor Buxton side get away with a scrappy 1-0 victory with a silly own goal. You’ve got to give SW credit for the positive substitutions and Nelson even more credit for bouncing back in a really big way. Gap is n...

Re: Boston v Darlington 20/02/24
What a massive missed opportunity last night was. Very pleasing first half performance where we’ve actually created the chances to make our superiority count. Yes it’s a little disheartening to go in at HT one goal behind but why is the mentality in the group so weak that it causes us to completely ...

Re: Boston v Darlington 20/02/24
Every game feels like all or bust at the minute, Saturday gives us a glimmer of hope but if we do our usual Tuesday night horror show after a win then we’ll be right back to square one with fewer games to spare. Think we should stick with a formation that worked well on Saturday but I wouldn’t be su...

Re: Boston v Darlington 20/02/24
I’m slightly surprised to see Sukar’s loan at Scarborough being extended. Whilst he’s not the world beater some Darlo fans made him out to be, he is an option in a position we’re short on at the minute, particularly with Lawlor being injured.

Moke still on loan, Rowe has joined Hednesford on a permanent deal. Presume at the very least their will be a goalkeeper coming in today.

How many times under Gowling did we bemoan playing well, but not really hurting the opposition? It is kind of happening under Watson now. Never. We never played well under Gowling. Every game was tedious negative plodding dogshit and I hate him for it. Under Watson, although results haven't really ...

We were fully spent up before Hatfield came in, that’s what we were told. I’m not sure where you think there’s dishonesty, DJ said again at a fans forum whilst JG was in charge that we were overspending. Clearly, nothing has gone to plan this season and the board have stretched the budget in attemp...

As i said previously, the board made a mistake trusting Armstrong with a 2 year contract and this years budget Since then it’s been scrambling to catch up which is costing us even more, the argument for keeping Gowling wasn’t he was good, just that the die had been cast and we were spending more an...

Who’s contracted for next season? Bar those, I’d probably only want to keep Hatfield if he’s not in the above. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Hatfield , Nelson and possibly Asante. Re: Darlington v Alfreton 10/02/24
It was the same against Tamworth, if we had a couple of forwards with bit of pace on the pitch that fat tub of lard wouldn’t have been able to cruise through the game, instead we had one up front and the bloke could have had a deck chair out there. Who are you going for exactly? Salkeld, Curry, Riv...

Bottom line is that the players are not strong enough, fit enough and just blatantly not good enough to keep us in this league. When did we last beat a strong, well organised, physical team………answer is, so long ago I cannot remember. Yes the ref was awful, yes they rolled around injured but even af...

Re: Darlington v Alfreton 10/02/24
Alfreton Town - what a bunch of twats! They roll around, waste time, break up play, tug shirts, they utilise every trick in the book - not just a few times, but as a fully blown ideology right through a match. Watching them play football is a dull, boring and frustrating afternoon and if I lived in...
