Re: Luke charman

Charman had at least one offer in the summer to go full time a division above, AA convinced him to stay with us and he would have better opportunities. He wanted to go full time (who blames him) but AA has used his management style/skill to get the best out of Luke and he then had a lot more offers....

Re: Jake Lawlor

I get the feeling Lawlor won't be with us next season, I hope he is but I think not. I am guessing the fact he has received a pay out from Hartlepool and a contract from us, means his wage hasn't dropped at this point. So sensibly from his point of view he will be looking for the best offer and poss...

Re: Jake Lawlor

Great to have Lawlor back. The slight disappointment is that he is only on a contract until the end of the season. Taylor, Ellis, Lawlor, Hatfield, Rose, Purver, Cassidy; we need to try and build the squad around these next season. A fully fit David Wheater would be a bonus. Yep hoping and expectin...

Book your tickets in advance at below, although you should be fine getting a seat on the day. As mentioned the site lines are reasonable from the seated stand.

Re: David Wheater

Lawlor won’t be coming back if Pools, sorry Raj keep being little cry babies because we wouldn’t let them talk to Charman I'd be surprised if that had an impact, they want him off the wage bill and that's what we are able to offer. You're forgetting how Raj conducts himself when annoyed/angry.

Re: Luke Charmans value

Whilst I agree with a lot of the lower expectations here. However one team possibly interested is Rochdale, manager is Robbie Stockdale who was at our home game v Spenny (he still lives local so could have been just taking in the game). However they have just sold Beesley to Blackpool for an alleged...

Re: Fans Forum Postponed

It might not be about it, but the very strong rumour of it being a new stadium and exactly where it will be keeps coming around with a number at the game speaking about it yesterday.

Location seems to have been selected, interesting times.

Re: Darlington V Spennymoor

A couple of precedent cases in the past to losing our best player. In 1984 we lost Alan Walsh only to kick on massively the season after. In 1988 we lost David Currie and fell apart. The difference was the manager. Cyril Knowles was very adept at unearthing gems, while David Booth brought in gash. ...

Re: Darlington V Spennymoor

Rochdale are interested also and National League team showed interest previous and one in our division. I would assume they will be plenty more for a player who can score goals with feet or head, close, outside the box and no doubt left foot/right foot. His work rate is outstanding and the fact he w...

Re: Darlington V Spennymoor

Difficult call for who plays up front for me. Hatfield has to play and I think we do much better when we have 3 in midfield, Hatfield further forward. Does mean though that either Charman plays wider, like Sat, which for me is a bit of a waste or Cassidy doesn’t play. Just think 424 to accommodate ...

Re: Darlington V Gateshead

In fairness to Mondal, Gateshead overloaded in midfield and the movement was excellent, simply Rose and Purver were out numbered and out manoeuvred. Owen Bailey kept drifting into Mondal's area and he was left unsure whether to pick up the left back, the midfielder Bailey or on occasions engage with...

Re: Southport V Darlington

Do we need an excuse if we get beat of Fylde? I expect us to try and give them a very good game and who knows I would like to think we can win. However they are one of the best teams in our league? Whilst I am disappointed with a number of results, I am more than happy to keep behind the management ...

I was very much in agreement with Ghost of1883 at the time over the players that left us in the summer and nothing since has changed my mind. I disagree about Campbell getting in to current first team. Who would he replace? Not as good out wide as Rivers or de Santos and certainly not as good as Ch...

Re: Blyth Spartans

Campbell's biggest problem was always felt he needed someone like Cassidy to play alongside him, he had a decent run with O'Neill. However many times due to our weak as piss defence and football has moved on we needed to play the 4-5-1 or 4-3-3, which Campbell done ok out wide but not where he wante...

Are there 8 ties which are all NLN? Out of 22 drawn only 6 aren't facing NLN opposition.
Think its 9 ties all NLN. So only 4 escaped, BPA, Farsley, Guiseley & Telford.

Lambert showed glimpses last time he was here, but so far in this spell he's turning in consistently excellent performances. Having watched the highlights he again seemed to be the one with that quality to create chances. It'll be interesting to see what Armstrong does when Charman is back, as Lamb...

FA Trophy 2nd Rnd Draw

Tomorrow at 1pm, will be published by the FA but not on radio etc. at all. Quick look would suggest the options are possibly the 21 other clubs in our league or one of the below 14. No doubt the FA will complete a slightly different North/South line to the draw so below might not be spot on but clos...

As if it wasn’t a bad enough evening we will now be without Charman. I wonder if there's been some history behind the sendings off at the end. The Southport player Bainbridge and Charman had apparently been having words earlier before the red cards. Bainbridge played for Sunderland under-23s when C...

As above in County Cup. Rather than training be good to see a number of players get game time including Nelson, Purver, Mondal, B.Taylor, Rose, Lambert, Beauchamp, maybe even Cooper to get him ready for Saturday. Hopefully the club advise squad in advance. Aycliffe advised the below KO is 7.45pm. Sp...

Got injured in either his first or second game and hasn't got back playing yet it seems. Sadly his team are bottom of the league currently also. Hopefully it turns around for him and Scunthorpe soon.

I'm really not sure 'if Telford scored every change they had, it could have been 3-3' from a game that finished 3-0 is a reasonable comment... as though teams take every chance at this level? We comfortably deserved the win. It was a big improvement, and pleasing after an improved second half last ...
