After the last two years, enthusiasm for ANY football, of any level is thoroughly understandable.
And you're clearly jumping for joy.

Away win at Brackley, reserves / fringe players win big in DCC, what can we whinge about now?
I'm not sure where this sudden burst of enthusiasm for the DCC has come from? Apart from when we played Hartlepool a couple of years ago nobody seemed fussed.

Much better performance after 20mins - takes pressure off players and AA to concentrate on game against Chester - IMO we are very slowly growing in confidence and getting better each match.

What about Brackley on Tuesday night?

Re: Bar closure

I remember a couple of years after moving in a massive crack formed in the wall next to the food kiosk in the concourse beneath block 10! It was obviously repaired but it was shocking for what at the time was a newly built venue, the Arena was obviously rushed in the end but I'm intrigued as to what...

Re: Bar closure

Time to move back to The Arena, at least you can get a pint anytime, stay dry and have a good view of the game. Also increased hospitality revenue available to peruse. We can't afford the Arena. If we could we would have moved back there some time ago, it's in the past and needs to be left there.

I've held back on commenting openly on this issue but in light of recent events I've decided to add my two cents worth and bump an old thread in the process. The most important thing to remember is it is not the gesture that matters most but the message behind it and the gesture itself, in my opinio...

DJ ruled out the Arena completely much to the relief of many of us. Now we await the triumphant return of Fat Josh! On the subject of the Arena he is correct. It is a rusting shell not fit for purpose and will likely be knocked down in the future. In all other respects he is a complete tool. I can'...

I'm prepared to be patient this season and I think we have to be realistic. We currently have a small squad and a young squad at that, Lexus Beeden and Joey Hope are both only 19 then you've got the likes of Ben Hedley, Alex Storey and Kevin Dos Santos who are all in their early 20's and although we...

The Bizarre Stadium That BANKRUPTED A Football Club

If you have 40 minutes to spare, an interesting take on the Reynolds era and everything that followed. Not 100% correct in places but whoever made the video had clearly done their homework and I have no idea why but this commentary makes the whole situation feel more embarrassing than it did at the ...

We fell to our knees twice last night, once before kick off and then again in the second half. Of course I take into account the quality of the opposition and I don't want to read too much into a friendly but there was a 20 minute period in the second half that was suspicious to say the least, we si...

Re: Some questions about following Darlo in none league

A couple of days after the expulsion I bumped into a Spurs fan at work, someone I'd always got on with fairly well with, but someone who always chided me for being a Bury fan. He's from Cheshire and has no links to North London at all and in the ten years I'd known him I never knew him to attend a ...

Bury have had a mixed bag of results in pre season, but we have mainly faced higher opposition. Pick of the results being a ...

In the Echo, Shaun Campbell claims that footballers who cost England matches in the past have "not seen a sliver of abuse". Really? The guy is a fantasist. Surely he can recall that infamous effigy of David Beckham hung from a sign outside a pub after his sending off against Argentina in the '98 Wo...

Good lord, it's never ending with you isn't it?! Like the cycle of lockdowns we'll be having in years to come if certain people get their way. That assumes competence on the part of Boris Johnson and the Government. As we’ve seen, they were too slow locking down in March and September last year (as ...

You're just digging your heels in now. 200 dead a day, and 2,000 in hospital each day too, by the Government’s own modelling. Those daily hospitalisation numbers alone are unsustainable and if they end up anywhere near that, more restrictions will be needed and next week’s grand unlocking will...

Re: Darlington V Tadcaster Albion - preseason friendly

You’re not interested in cases because it’s inconvenient to your argument. Even with a vaccine programme, more cases = more hospitalisations = more deaths and serious illness, (and with 20m still unvaccinated). So while there may be disruption, the path you’re advocating will be much, much worse an...

Oh, and if we think it’s bad now, wait until cases are hitting hundreds of thousands each day. I think we have already passed the milestone some time during the last year, there's no doubt in my mind the virus had already taken hold before mass testing was rolled out and there may well be many thou...
