Re: Southport V Darlington

can’t see us going down and we’re only three points off top spot. The frustrating thing is, had it not been for our defensive frailties this season we could actually well be 3 points off top! We are promotion chasers at one end but relegation fodder at the other, never known a team like the one we ...

Re: Durham County Cup

Andy read the notification, it says quite clearly that the club withdrew from the competition, they were not kicked out as you say, withdrawn because of an academy player not registered properly. So we were forced out due to our own incompetence? Not that you'd ever admit the Club is capa...

Re: Boston V Darlington

This is the third season they have had to produce a team capable of mounting a playoff challenge and we seem as far away as ever from a sustained challenge at the top end of the league. Of course the last two seasons have been disrupted but nevertheless it is disappointing. Technically they haven't...

 Just had my crystal football out and I can therefore forecast a 1-0 win for Darlo in classic away style. Cheers, Pete. I await your excuses later tonight when we have been beaten by that very scoreline! :!: I've gone for a 4-2 win for Darlo - No excuses will be needed! Is that so? :problem:

Re: Boston V Darlington

They've got a strong home record with five wins from seven. But the return of Charman is a real boost for us following his three-match ban for trying to get to his feet after being pinned to the floor by a Southport player. This will be a tough midweek test but we can get something if we are at our...

Re: Darlington v Leamington 23/10/21

Looks like the Guiseley game on Saturday is in doubt, they’ve got Covid cases in the squad and tonight’s game vs Telford has been postponed. What the new procedure now? If you have been double jabbed you don't have to isolate I believe? So a postponment would depend on how many have contracted Covi...

Re: Darlington v Hereford Saturday 9th October 2021

I'm pretty sure you've got the wrong end of the stick upthread, q4l. I think 'Old Git' - or rather TKOA - was suggesting that four years was very much within the foreseeable future and that there was every chance the Toon could be winning trophies by that time. Given that Sheikh Mansour's wealth is...

Re: Darlington v Hereford Saturday 9th October 2021

Man city won the league 4 years after they were taken over so I wouldn’t be too sure about that. This ^ Sheik Mansour bought City in 2008 and it wasn't until 2011 that they won their first trophy, will the geordies be prepared to be that patient? I have to say I feel sorry for Steve Bruce the treat...

Re: Darlington v Hereford Saturday 9th October 2021

Good point it probably was a factor. Hope the likely resurgence of Newcastle Utd won’t lead to more young fans being lured up the A1 to Geordieland. As with any club who is bought out by money bags owners, I'd urge the geordies to be careful what they wish for the grass isn't always greener. Bad en...

A sign of the times very funny 😂 Unfortunately not as funny as the sign George Reynolds put up outside the Arena asking Jan Mazurk to stop letting her dog crap in the car park. Re: Darlo v York

Very dour game today, York were pretty much as I expected them to be direct and physical launching balls forward to Mark Beck and Clayton Donaldson and I thought overall we dealt with their aerial threat pretty well until Jake Cooper got himself sent off with a reckless tackle, on another day anothe...

I remember a couple of years after moving in a massive crack formed in the wall next to the food kiosk in the concourse beneath block 10! Re: Bar closure

Time to move back to The Arena, at least you can get a pint anytime, stay dry and have a good view of the game. Also increased hospitality revenue available to peruse. We can't afford the Arena. If we could we would have moved back there some time ago, it's in the past and needs to be left there.
