Player update - Rose, Charman et al

https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/19846722.rose-may-return-end-tough-week-darlington/ Wide ranging article by Mr Stoddart. Gives update on situation on loanees and interesting bit about Charman - it seems he has a release clause in his contract and a club (bradford city?) met it, but he turned...

Re: Southport...

Mid table mediocrity...gone as far as we can....need an investor..... With the exception of a handful of clubs who can realistically challenge for top of the premier league then sooner or later, at some level, you will reach a point where the best you can hope for is retaining your place in the curr...

Re: Shirt survey results

Agree a great piece of work and great communication. Personally I’m a ‘hoops all the time’ fan, but what is being proposed seems a sensible way forward. The only thing I wonder about- if I’ve read it correctly- is to have a new shirt every season. In the dire financial straights many people are in a...

I'll have to see it again, but that might just be the most astonishing sending-off I've ever seen.
Had a look at several York social media sites and it seems you are wrong - thru their eyes it was one of the worst tackles ever.

Only 125 miles for me - first game of the season. Lot of rain due in the area so hope the pitch can cope. At least don’t have to set off until after 4.30 ish. Don’t expect anything from the game but hope we can build on second half on Sat and get ourselves sorted for more winnable games and start ou...

FA Cup draw

Draw for 2nd qualifying round on Monday when we come in. In better times would be looking forward to it and maybe drwaing a 'weaker' team to get to the next round, but just now a few of these weaker teams would fancy playing us.

Now that the transfer window is closed can we expect some would-be full timers who didn't get fixed up to be looking for part time employment?

Covid postponments

Don't know if there any general FA guidelines about when a club can postpone a match when players test positive, but the Northern Premier League seem to be taken a very strict approach. This is taken from an article in the Non League paper by the NPL chairman 'This season, for a league match to be p...

Future of heading?

The FA are proposing limitations to heading the ball during training. https://www.thefa.com/news/2021/jul/28/20210728-new-heading-guidance-published Wonder if this will eventually lead to restrictions in matches- could we get to the stage where heading is banned? Although after Tuesday’s performance...

My issue is people who have no respect of how other people may feel nervous. This applies equally to those nervous about reopening and having their feelings belittled as it does to those nervous about if restrictions were extended. As a society there's a real risk of losing the ability to have resp...

Maybe Uncle Ray could put this out to his media contacts. It could be a positive story and good publicity if it reached the National Press and TV.
That young Mr Stoddart tweeted it last night - with pictures. With his millions of followers its inevitable it will be all over TV and press.

Also signed Boro keeper Brad James on loan.

Seem to be throwing everything they have got - and probably a fair bit they haven't got - at promotion.

Be ironic if Armstrong and Saunders provided the goals that got them up.

I have a vague memory of him scoring at the Tin Shed end in a big game against Bradford City. If I ...

Remember watching him late sixties (69?). I think he played for us towards the end of his career.
