Re: Who next?
For me there is only one person for the job to get us out of this mess and that is Martin Gray. He is available and is Darlington’s most successful manager ever and what he did to restart the club should never ever be forgotten. He only wanted to take the club to the next level when he tried to brin...

Re: Bar closure
Time to move back to The Arena, at least you can get a pint anytime, stay dry and have a good view of the game.
Also increased hospitality revenue available to peruse.

Re: Arena it is
The Arena may be cold but don’t think BM is much warmer let’s hope for a mild Winter. At least I won’t get wet, will be able to watch all the action and park my car next to the ground. Don’t like BM and would be happy for DFC to stay permanently at the Arena. I believe hospitality will generate more...

Re: Interview with Johnston on Official Website
Yes agreed we will have to await DJ’s proposal report before any concrete thoughts on how supporters will vote accordingly. However to me though if by moving back to the Arena on a permanent or temporary arrangement means that the club will be better off financially then I am all for that proposal. ...

Re: Gray Considering his Future
I want Martin Gray to stay, he has done a fantastic job and without him we are only going in one direction and that is downwards. I find it unbelievable that Raj Singh has been hounded out before he was even in, at least he should have been given the chance to talk to the fans about what his exact i...

Re: blackwell meadows work !!
My view is quite simple, forget BM it is never going to work in the short term or the long term i.e. it will never be ready for ages and then when/if it is will be very basic and will not allow us to move up the leagues. The land does not allow us to build an infrastructure big enough to support a co...

Re: Middleborough - Brighton
Dont know why some Darlo fans cant be pleased for Boro, after all they are our neighbours. I have supported both teams for over 50 years and i am a season ticket holder for both. For those of you who have short memories or who are too young to know Middlesbrough and Darlo have had an excellent relat...

Blackwell Meadows
Now that we are all beginning to digest the fabulous season Darlo have had, culminating in one of the most magical nights in the history of DFC at Whitby last Thursday my thoughts are now starting to think of next season. With all due respect i just cant see BM been ready for the start of next seaso...

Re: Front page news
I am led to believe this situation came about as the result of a simple clerical error. When Bell was registered the forms state have you played internationally and a tick was put in the NO box.Unfortunately Wales is classed as international in football terms. However there was no hidden agenda from...

Re: The Arena
I would be very disappointed if Mowden Rugby Club had indeed knocked us back on the grounds that they just dont want us under any circumstances. Surely in our hour of need they could show some sympathy to the situation Darlo find themselves in, where we have no ground in the town and unlikely to hav...

Re: Today's Echo
DFC should now walk away from the Blackwell Meadows project after this latest saga in joining forces with DRC. To me from day one BM has never been a viable option. Still think the best bet is the Arena, it gets us back quickly into town and provides the facilities and ground to move up the leagues....

Re: The Arena
If that information is correct about the Arena, then I am in full agreement for it to happen. Nothing is perfect in life and we all know the Arena has its drawbacks, but rather than continue to use an out of town venue, I would welcome the move back into Darlo. Providing the costs add up for both pa...

Re: BM Alternatives
The facts as we stand at the moment as i see it are as follows; 1. BM is dead in the water, unless we are misreading all the vibes which i doubt. 2. We dont have enough money to build any sized stadium/ground from scratch. 3. We cant stay at HP for much longer as fans may be (or are) losing interest...

Re: BM Alternatives
Have we ever approached Mowden Park in the past to ground share the Arena with them? If so what was their answer? Providing they have never kicked us back in the past, then we urgently need to approach them as surely a ground share agreement must be financially of benefit to both parties. The Arena ...

Re: Blackwell meadows
Lets face it the news coming out of DFC regarding Blackwell Meadows seems to indicate that we are plugging the plug to moving to BM. First the news that the rugby club had moved the "goalposts" over certain agreements that had been made and now to take the club shop out of BM only confirms the situa...

Re: Do you support more than one club
i am a season ticket holder at Darlo and the Boro. As a kid my dad took me to Feethams at about 6/7 years old and i was hooked immediately going to every home game for the first team and also the reserves. At about 15 years old i first went to see the Boro for the first time, when they were in the o...

BLACKWELL MEADOWS
Have been away on holiday for 2 weeks but managed to hear the good news about the go-ahead to return to Darlo at Blackwell Meadows location.
As of interest are there any timescales been given for when this might happen and also has there been any discussion about floodlights?

Re: Will Quakers get their way & return to Darlington - Echo
:o Looks like we may have a problem with moving to Blackwell Meadows if their members vote goes against us and now should be talking to Bishop Auckland about prolonging our stay. Not ideal but we don't want to be homeless. Alternatively maybe we should be talking to Mowden Park Rugby Club about grou...

Re: Smoggies sacking
sad to see tony mowbray leave he is a boro legend, and a very decent man it just did not work out for him. darlo fans should never forget the help mfc and tony has given the club over the years, loaning players and raising money via pre-season friendlies. lets hope darlo and boro can both have succes...
