Argentina were terrible there. No 'big' team seems to be standing out so far.
I'm starting to think that Brazil will end up fluking their way to winning the whole thing.

Re: World Cup
Anyway, back to the tournament. The Frogs are looking pretty impressive here.
I doubt they'll win it but at least they haven't utterly imploded this time.

Probably not but it's hardly 'doing well' as Darlogramps thinks.al_quaker wrote:Before the tournament, we were considered to be the third best team in the group. We've had 2 narrow defeats to two very good teams. Have we really under performed that much?

Re: World Cup
Not sure what your point is. You roll your eyes at Hodgson staying then say it's a pointless discussion. If you don't want him to stay, who would you want to take over? In an ideal world, someone who is a progressive coach with ideas how to play the game the right way. You can't polish a turd but I...

Re: World Cup
Well you could argue that worst ever performance in a World Cup and losing to two teams that Costa Rica made look like mugs might be grounds for sacking him. It's a pointless discussion though as he won't be going anywhere, mainly because there aren't any credible candidates who would take the job a...

Re: World Cup
I didn't have particularly high hopes for England in this tournament but I never imagined that our last game would end up being a dead rubber with us already out and Costa Rica already through.
Still, at least Roy is staying.

Re: World Cup
Should have got something from the game, the Italians were there for the taking. Sterling was great but I hope people don't start overhyping him just yet. Negatives: Rooney was pathetic yet again in a big game-Roy surely needs to think about dropping him. Gerrard looks past it- the problem is we don...

Re: Shushhhhhhhhh. Virtual Feethams is asleep.
With Facebook/Twitter, I think all forums are dying in popularity a bit so it’s unlikely this place will ever reach the heights of the old days. Only thing I would suggest that might improve activity on here is to get rid of the other subforums. They were always quieter than the main forum but now t...

Re: Premier League Thread
I still think Liverpool are live contenders for the title. Rogers impresses me. They have the backing of serious money from the States and the 2 Manchester clubs have to deal with new management teams. Everton look toast to me now. Any thoughts now PT? Don't think Liverpool are anywhere near title ...

Crisis club Chelsea go top of the league. Still don't get why Mourinho isn't playing Mata though.
Elsewhere, can't see Di Canio lasting much longer. Always thought it would end in tears but not this quickly.

Well pretty much what I was expecting, Mayweather strolled it. Canelo is a good fighter but he is still miles away.
Have to say Floyd is the best I've ever seen.

What do you expect him to say?! Something that sounded like he'd been watching the same game as everybody else. It was one of the worst games I've ever seen at international level. To describe it as "good quality", he's either insulting people's intelligence or is genuinely insane. I quite like Roy...

Definitely all of the above.
As I said in the other thread though, I believed all along the plan was to hold it in the winter. Now they're just trying to smooth the way for it to happen with these statements.

Big game tonight. Any predictions?
A draw would be a decent result although I have a nasty feeling that is exactly what we will play for and it will backfire on us.

Re: Premier League Thread
I was amazed that Moyes started with Ashley fucking Young the other day yet Kagawa wasn't even on the bench. He was criminally underused last season by Ferguson as well.
