Re: Looks like they're staying...
I have just read through the Darlo v Alfreton thread from February. Wow, what a turnaround. Not only in team performance but also in the fans thoughts on where we wo uld end up.. Following the defeat most fans (including myself) thought we can only end the season in the bottom four. Also, a lot bein...

Re: Darlington V Southport
I got the impression that one of them was a Southport fan as he didn't look too happy when Cornish scored, i could be wrong though.

Re: Darlington V Southport
I know he's a 4th/5th choice, just saying we need to. See something of him before the season ends ,if he's fit as it says he is , I appreciate that it's unlikely. However I believe Steve Watson knows best and leave it there. I guess it depends on the length of his contract. If he's out of contract t...

Re: The Bottom Ten, Monday Apr 01st 2024
Hi JE93, It looks like Farsley, they should be feeling pretty desperate at this time, probably low on confidence, and they have the next three games, twice against Peterborough, then here at Blackwell Meadows to turn it around. When the chasing pack caught them, with Southport winning and Farsley l...

If we go down this season, it's not because the referee/linesman got that decision wrong yesterday. It's because for the vast majority of the season we've been dogshit. Interesting piece about the murkey ownership of Chorley FC on Monday's Price of Football Podcast from about 40 min mark. Current owner who has no connection with Chorley was was sole owner has replaced himself with 10 companies all of which up to their latest accounts (2022) were apparently dormant...

Taylor's done well today. We've been second to the ball and didn't close down on the edge of the box. They deserved their win. I must have watched a different game to you cos i thought he was very very poor. Mind, both Griffirhs and Hedley (again) got a real spanking by their wide players. They sho...

I wouldn't be surprised if Gibson was brought into midfield as I thought that we were overrun on Tuesday in that area by Blyth. However, I don't know much about the lad but he has played a lot of games for Boro under 21s.

I see the club have put out something on the official website regarding the throwing of pyrotechnics on to the pitch. Obviously, it is serious if it leads to a fine or other punishments, but I am at a loss to know how the culprit managed to get one into the ground, as everyone was being searched be...

Jimmy Dean pulls on the hair shirt...owch.... https://www.scunthorpe-united.co.uk/news/2024/march/-player-jimmy-dean-post-darlington-a/ Somehow he just seemed to forget the basics of solid organisation and keeping it tight at the back even when, on paper, you've got the best and most expensive squa...

Form table from the last 5 games has us 2nd with 12 points and Scunny 16th with only 5 which is a lot better than it was when we were due to play them originally. The most important thing for me is we don't pick up any more injuries and that our heads don't drop it we do lose, because they are a go...

Goal difference.
A lot has been said recently about our poor goal difference and how we need an extra point to get ahead of teams above us. I might be getting a little ahead of myself here but if we win by 3 goals (a tough ask I know) against Banbury on Saturday we will go ahead of them on the goals scored rule. Goa...

Re: Darlington v Alfreton 10/02/24
I'm surprised that nothing has been said about the injury time at the end of the second half. I think it was 5 times that their medic/trainer came on, plus all the substitutions ( that took ages to complete) plus the deliberate time wasting. I expected quite a bit more. However, it didn't bother me ...

Wouldn't surprise me at all if SW still played with 5 at the back putting Platt in there alongside of Lees and Siddick. Also expect him to use Barrow and Griffiths as wing backs. Midfield of Hatfield and Moke. Two up front Main and either Curry or Nelson with Cornish just behind the front tw,o

He has already divided the fans. The club is now in the position that if it turns him down and we do get relegated the loud-mouths will round on DJ big style. MG knows this and is trying to use it for his own ends. He is a manipulator. I see your point, but I think this is a free hit for the club. ...

I think it is very poor the way Gray has gone about this. I'm not sure what the board think about it either. He says all the correct things, a bit like an MP during a general election campaign. But for me he has already shown his true colours in the way he tried to bring in Singh and then left the c...

And who do you suggest we get to replace DJ or are you going to volunteer. These stupid comments actually get worse after every defeat. Some on here need to learn about finance.. :) Now you are being pedantic. They are being asked to stay away overnight at their own expense in order to do their day job. That is wrong. Are they being asked? Or have they come together and said they want to stay away to increase the chances of a win? If it’s the latter then I can’t see any pro...

Re: Gloucester (A)
From what I saw in the first few games we needed to have a lot of changes
What we had at the start was not good enough, and I know a lot of them are still with us and playing but they must realise that their places are in danger if they don't buck up.
