Re: Boston V Darlington

It's all well and good looking at still images several hours after the game has finished. But, in reality the referee does not get the time to analyse still photos to work out the angles etc... In real time there was no difference between the two tackles. The difference was that the referee took tim...

Re: Boston V Darlington

Would not surprise me if AA went 3 (Lawlor Ellis Cooper ) at the back. Don't know who he would play in midfield but have Purver and Rose in front of the 3.. I think Lambert and Charman will play off Cassidy..
Will be interesting to see what the team actually will be.

Re: Chester Away

I don't necessarily agree with that. The two outstanding team in this league are clearly Fylde and Brackley. But even they have dropped unexpected points. Who ever can get a bit of consistency will challenge. It could be us, Chester or anyone.

Re: Chester Away

Listened to the game on the internet. Thought we might have held out as we seemed to be playing well, missing the 2 one on one's in the first half didn't help mind. Sounds like their gamble of pushing everyone forward paid off. Got to say I was very impressed with Alex Purver on the commentary his k...

Re: Kettering v Darlo

I guess there won't be a video as it might conflict with their match report. According to that Cassidy should have been sent off, Rivers should have had treatment off the field for the foul that lead to the penalty. And it was a fair tackle and not a penalty. Got to say that I was not at the game so...

Also enjoying there time in the limelight, who had heard of them before the pandemic? I will be more than happy to beat the £120K target.
I have done my pledge this morning though to be honest I don't really know why I waited to the last day. I was always going to contribute.

Re: 6 players leave

Last season was a little underwhelming, but also the circumstances weren't brilliant it was a terribly interrupted season. I think a reasonably target for us is top 10, and hope to sneak into the playoffs if our form is good at the end of the season. I don't understand how you can say that a top 10...

Re: Kidderminster Harriers 13th Feb

No. the reason for continuing in the FA trophy is that it's run by The F A. Not the national league. Thank heaven. I'm not sure who runs the competition has any bearing. The FA aren't providing testing or funding either - not explicitly. The reason we are continuing in the Trophy is because the Tro...

Re: League restarts 6 February

There are quite a few teams in North and South who are full time, they still got a hell of a lot less than NL teams. Darlington FC have travelled to Bristol. Swindon and Weymouth this season (I know they were cup games) We also have several 4+ hour bus journey's. Some National league teams have shor...

Re: League restarts 6 February

I agree with all of the above btw. What I wasn't supporting was a perspective that NL Prem sides are quids in. We are quite fortunate really that we aren't on a lifeline yet. Can't imagine was others must be like. It was me that said that NL clubs are "quids in".. and it was in comparison to the fu...

Interesting that Chesterfield have pulled out oy the Trophy last 16 game against Aldershot. They were contacted a...

No, sorry but you haven't convinced me.
Both players went for the ball with outstretched legs, I actually think the Wheatley tackle was the cleaner of the two.
Though in my opinion both were tackles and neither was a foul.

Re: That penalty

Storey blocked the ball out of play for a corner? Yes, that's what the commentators said until they saw the replay. Then they thought that he didn't make any contact with the ball However. That was not my point. (and once again you know this). My point was, did he consider "what if the player chang...

Re: That penalty

How on earth are you claiming you know that is an accepted caution from our players? Considering our manager said it was a perfectly fair challenge in his PMI would suggest it is not the view of the management, at the very least. I highly doubt any footballer would think that is a poor challenge. L...

Re: That penalty

No it's the law. Tackling without consideration for the safety of an opponent is a caution - by the laws of the game. Agree or not that is the definition of a reckless tackle. If a referee doesn't caution they are incorrect in law. They get marked accordingly in the system and their 'career' trajec...

Yes, I am sure that Wheatley saw the ball run into a situation like yesterdays and thought "what if the player changes direction and I end up tackling him rather than the ball,  .But he didn't tackle the man. The fact remains he clearly won the ball Does any ball winning midfielder thin...

Re: That penalty

It was an horrendous decision and could have cost us, However they were a poor team and we recovered from it.
The ref also got quite a few decisions wrong, not least the booking of Wheatlley. That was a great tackle and one every ball winning midfield player would relish.

Re: League restarts 6 February

They are not "quids in". No clubs are "quids in" right now trust me. We have made about 10x more from our FA Cup run than the money National League clubs get from BT over a season. Us and Chorley are potentially the most "quids in" of any clubs across the divisions when it comes to excess revenue t...

They chose that as their budget. Other clubs like Altrincham, have a more manageable budget. That aside, they will still see the glory that promotion could bring rather than the reality of the debt that will fall to most of them. Like Altrincham who are part time and were EvoStik two seasons ago an...

The national League will carry on. There is no question about that. They have already had nearly 3 times as much funding from the grants than the north and south clubs have had, in addition they have income from BT. Financially they are doing loads better than the North and South leagues who at this...

Re: Season at risk of finishing early

Two questions..(they may have been touched on earlier in this thread but I can't find them if they have) One. If the second option is taken by the National league only,(National leagues north and south both ended). Does the repayment of the loan still fall onto every team in all leagues. Two. If op...
